One item: In the second year of Bunsei (Year of the Tiger), at the time of a fire that broke out at the *kaisho* (meeting hall/office) toward the end of the previous year, he promptly rushed to the various offices, produced and submitted the relevant registers, and rendered distinguished service; in recognition of this admirable conduct, he was presented with sake by the domain.
One item: In the first month of the third year of the same era (Bunsei, Year of the Rabbit), it was proclaimed that, as he had long cultivated good character and applied himself diligently to the arts of both civil and military learning, he was to be added to the ranks of the *o-kachi* (foot soldiers/lower-ranking retainers) on extraordinary occasions.
