漁師はこれに驚いて二、三歩後退して見守っていると、煙は次第に上昇し、今にも雲の際まで達しそうになった時、突然散らばって陸海に充満し、手を伸ばしても届かないほど近くも見分けがつかない朝霧のようになった。漁師はこの時恐怖で震え上がり、逃げ出すこともできずにいたが、恐る恐るなおも注視していると、瓶から出た煙が昇り終わったかと見えた時、水天にたなびいていた煙霧は次第に収縮してまとまり、ついに一つの固体となって、見上げてもなお見尽くすことのできない巨大な魔王となった。その時魔王は雷のような声を轟かせて
