現代語訳

（前頁からの続き）石を担がせ、佐太夫は自分の石を下に入れて帰還した。この使いの一部始終を御両所（内膳殿・十蔵殿）に申し上げると、皆に休むようにとの仰せがあった。佐太夫が進み出て申し上げるには、「使いに参りましたが、確かなことは何も得られませんでした。浜辺でかようにして帰って参りました」と重ねて申し上げると、内膳殿・十蔵殿はお喜びの様子であった。

大村勘介家記に曰く――十二月八日、有馬玄蕃殿の人数は三会村に陣を取り、これと同じく立花左近殿の人数は安徳村から島原まで陣を取った。

立斎旧聞記に曰く――十二月八日、忠茂公は原の城下に押し詰められた。

別本細川譜に曰く――十二月八日、光利（細川忠利）は肥後国の宇土に赴き、大矢野（天草にあり）に兵を留め置き、そこで家士たちは残る凶賊の家屋を壊し、さらに山に入って逃げ隠れた賊を捜索した。また賊が上津浦・奥長等に群集しているとの報せを受け、細川立允（忠利の弟、最初に剃髪して立允と号し、後に中務大輔立孝と称す）・長岡重政（右馬助と号す）が栖本から、有吉英貴・長岡寄之・志水元五・小笠原民部長之・清田乗栄が大矢野から、谷内蔵允・黒田蔵人が水路から、三方の兵が一斉に進んで上津浦の賊を殺戮し、

(Continued from the previous page) The men were made to carry the stones, and Saadayu placed his own stone below (in his garment) and returned. The full account of the mission was reported to both lords (Naizen-dono and Jūzō-dono), who instructed everyone to rest. Saadayu stepped forward and reported: "I went on the mission, but could not confirm anything with certainty. I returned from the beach in this manner." When he repeated his report, Naizen-dono and Jūzō-dono appeared pleased.

According to the Ōmura Kansuke Family Chronicle: On the eighth day of the twelfth month, the forces of Arima Genba-dono took up positions at Mie Village, and likewise the forces of Tachibana Sakon-dono took up positions from Anotoku Village to Shimabara.

There, his retainers destroyed the remaining dwellings of the rebels, and entered the mountains to search for fleeing rebels in hiding.
