長八臣教（初名：丑四郎、また長伯）天明元年（1781年）正月十九日誕生
母：同上（樋口氏女）
妻：小松七郎左衛門利道の娘 綱（天明八年（1788年）正月十一日誕生）
一、天明八年（1788年）二月 親の願いのとおり総剃髪のままで初めてお目見えを仰せ付けられた件
一、寛政五年（1793年）十二月 医学に精進し、かつ儒学所での素読も良く、詩作なども行っていることから、褒美として『仲蔵全書』を下賜された件
一、同七年（1795年）十一月 学問に精進し記憶力も良く、年齢より手腕も優れている者であるという評価を得たため、儒学を専ら励み医業を兼ねて執行するよう、もっとも還俗の件は容易ならぬ事であるので、これまでの体制のまま執行するよう仰せ付けられた件
一、同九年（1797年）九月 詩作に精進し年齢より手腕も良く、昨冬一夜百首を作ったという稀なることもあったので、学校料の内から上木

Fourth Generation
Chōhachi Shigenori (original name: Ushishirō, also called Chōhaku), born on the 19th day of the first month of Tenmei 1 (1781)
Mother: Same as above (daughter of the Higuchi family)
Wife: Tsuna, daughter of Komatsu Shichirō-zaemon Toshimichi (born on the 11th day of the first month of Tenmei 8, 1788)
1. Second month of Tenmei 8 (1788): As requested by his father's petition, he was granted an initial audience with his head completely shaved.
2. Twelfth month of Kansei 5 (1793): Due to his diligence in medical studies and his excellent reading at the Confucian academy, as well as his composition of poetry, he was granted the "Chūzō Zensho" as a reward.
3. Eleventh month of Kansei 7 (1795): Having been evaluated as one who excels in scholarship with good memory and skills superior to his age, he was ordered to concentrate on Confucian studies while concurrently practicing medicine. However, since the matter of returning to secular life was not an easy matter, he was to continue in his current status.
4. Ninth month of Kansei 9 (1797): Due to his diligent poetry composition and skills superior to his age, and the rare accomplishment of composing one hundred poems in a single night last winter, from the school funds for publication...
