るあり又（また）甚（はなは）た稠密（てものおほく）に発（はつ）し出（いたし）て漸（よう〳〵）治療（りやうぢ）を尽（つく）して愈（なほり）たるもあり

ものもある。また非常に稠密（多数）に発疹して、ようやく治療を尽くして治ったものもある。
また大逆症となって六日目に死亡したものが一人いたため、それ以来種痘法の使用を禁止している。李仁山の説によれば、日を選んで種痘する時は十のうち八九は順調であるというが、種痘せずに自然に罹患したものも十のうち八九は、治療が病気に適合すれば全快するものである。したがって、わざわざ種痘して病気を招くことにも益があるとは限らない。まして痘疹の順逆（良し悪し）や発疹の稀密（多少）は胎毒だけが原因ではなく、時節によって変化するものである。病気も発生するものであるから、種痘して稠密で凶逆症をもたらすようであれば良くない。慎んでそのようなことをしてはならない。
あらかじめ痘疹を防ぐ説

古人があらかじめ痘疹を防ぐ処方は数多くある。玄兎丹、預防丹、固本丹、稀痘保嬰丹、消毒稀痘丹、消毒保嬰丹、龍鳳丹、兎血丸、兎紅丸、二血丸、その他種々あるが、挙げて数えることは困難である。私が使用し試してみたところ、その効果はない。『活幼心法』にも、富貴の家がその子を愛して痘疹が流行する時は医師を迎えて解毒・発散薬などを与え、医師もまたその発疹を軽くすべき理由がないということを理解せずに、妄りに薬を用いて脾胃を損ない、気血を傷つけ、元気を挫き、肌肉を敗って、その後痘疹を患う時に、期待して用いておいた薬の毒が残って凶逆の病をなし、ついに救うことができない事態を招く、と述べられている。憐れむべきことである。
すべて痘疹の前に妄りに薬を用いてはならないことは前にも詳しく述べたが、峯石山という古人の秘方に牛黄天府丸という処方がある。

There are also cases where the eruptions appear very densely, and recovery is achieved only after exhausting all treatments. There was also one case of severe adverse reaction leading to death on the sixth day, after which I prohibited the use of variolation methods. According to Li Renshan's theory, when variolation is performed on selected days, eight or nine out of ten cases proceed smoothly. However, even among those who contract smallpox naturally without variolation, eight or nine out of ten will recover completely if the treatment matches the disease. Therefore, deliberately inducing the disease through variolation may not necessarily be beneficial. Moreover, whether smallpox follows a favorable or adverse course, and whether eruptions are sparse or dense, is not determined solely by fetal toxins but varies according to seasonal conditions. Since diseases do develop naturally, if variolation results in dense eruptions and adverse symptoms, it would be harmful. One should refrain from such practices.
On Preventing Smallpox in Advance

There are many prescriptions from ancient physicians for preventing smallpox in advance: Xuantu Pills, Prophylactic Pills, Guben Pills, Xidou Baoying Pills, Xiaodu Xidou Pills, Xiaodu Baoying Pills, Longfeng Pills, Rabbit Blood Pills, Tuhong Pills, Erxue Pills, and various others that are too numerous to enumerate. However, when I tested and tried them, they showed no efficacy. The "Huoyou Xinfa" (Essential Methods for Protecting Children) also states that wealthy families, in their love for their children, summon physicians during smallpox epidemics to administer detoxifying and dispersing medicines. The physicians, not understanding that there is no reason to make the eruptions lighter, recklessly use medicines that damage the spleen and stomach, injure qi and blood, break down vital energy, and corrupt the flesh. Later, when the child contracts smallpox, the residual toxicity from the medicines used in anticipation creates adverse conditions, ultimately leading to incurable situations - truly pitiable.
I have already described in detail earlier that medicines should not be used recklessly before smallpox onset. However, there is a prescription called Niuhuang Tianfu Pills in the secret formulas of an ancient physician named Fengshishan.
