朝廷の御意に基き、御産例（身分・家格の規定）の御改革が相成り候につきましては、従前の等級は廃止され、土卒については二年を経た後、以後は丹役・庄順の儀、高（石高）の高下に照準し、着座の道筋を定めるべき候。もっとも同高の分は、当替（順番）をもって差席（席順）を負い取るべく候。
一、絵様（家紋・図柄）の儀は、かねてより相達し置き候ところ、巳年に朝廷へ御届け相成り候割合をもって、午（うま）年十月より下賜され候間、追って相渡し候。

(Regarding the reform of rank and seating protocols)
In accordance with the will of the Imperial Court, a reform of the regulations governing social status and family rank (産例, sanrei) has been carried out. The previous rank classifications are hereby abolished. Concerning the soldier-class (土卒, dosotsu), after a period of two years has elapsed, henceforth the order of precedence for the roles of tan-yaku and shō-jun shall be calibrated according to the level of one's assessed rice yield (石高, kokudaka), and the proper seating arrangements shall be determined accordingly. Those of equal assessed yield shall determine their relative seating by rotation.
One entry: Regarding crests/insignia (絵様, e-yō): as had previously been communicated, these were reported to the Imperial Court in the year of the Snake (巳年, i.e., Meiji 2, 1869), and are to be granted/distributed from the 10th month of the year of the Horse (午年, i.e., Meiji 3, 1870) onwards; they will be distributed in due course.
