水晶葡萄（すいしょうぶどう）《割書：釈名・和漢通名》
葉は紫葡萄（むらさきぶどう）
のようで、葉の切れ込みが
深く、実が熟すと
淡緑色で透き通る
もの。
【左丁】
瓉々葡萄（さゝぶどう）《割書：集解》
近頃、白川候の庭園の
中に、実の大きさが大豆
ほどあって、淡紫色で、
核（種）がなく、
味が甘いものがある。
これは珍しい品である。この植物は、
李時珍の説にある「大きさ五味子のごとくにして
核なし」と
いうものに当たる。

The leaves resemble those of the Purple Grape (*murasaki budō*),
with deeply incised lobes. When the fruit ripens,
it becomes pale green
and translucent.

Recently, in the garden of Lord Shirakawa,
there is a variety whose fruit is approximately
the size of a soybean, pale purple in color,
seedless, and sweet in taste.
This is a remarkable and rare specimen.
This plant corresponds to what Li Shizhen describes as
"resembling *gomishi* (Schisandra) in size,
but without seeds."
