私の子どもはこの牛痘（種痘）を遊びながら（苦もなく）済ませ、その後ますます健やかに育っていることを喜ばしく思っております。子を愛する気持ちは誰もが同じであるはずですから、世の人々にも私の子のような幸いを得てほしいと願い、このたび桑田先生の刻本（版本）をお願いして手に入れ、広く世に施し、人々とともに子孫の繁栄を楽しもうと思います。

My own child underwent this cowpox vaccination (smallpox inoculation) with ease and playfulness, and has since grown ever more vigorous and healthy — a source of great joy to me. Since the love of one's children is a feeling shared by all, I wished that the people of this world might enjoy the same fortune as my child. With this in mind, I have obtained a copy of Master Kuwata's printed work and am offering it to the world, so that all may join together in celebrating the flourishing of our descendants.
