高直ニ成下々酒多給不申積就夫酒屋減候

一 運上之儀江戸并御料ハ公儀江相納私領方ハ地
頭江可取立候事
一 運上之員数只今迄酒商売値段五割程も高
直ニ成候積運上取立可申候酒善悪ニ応し直段

一 十月九日、月例の御機嫌伺いのため江戸表へ使者を差し出した
御肴一種を献上した。右の使者は今日福井を出立
一 同日、湯治のため金津へ御出になった(同十六日に御帰殿)
一 同月(日付不詳)重陽の祝儀の献上に対しての御内書が御城にて渡され、御家来への拝領物等は例の通り
一 同月十日、大目付萩原近江守重秀殿から申し越しがあり、御留守居が出向いたところ、
次の通り御書付一通のお渡しがあった
覚
一 酒商売人が多く、下々がみだりに酒を飲み不届な儀を
行うため、今度酒運上を取り立て、運上に応じて酒の値段を
高値にし、下々が酒を多く飲まないようにする。それに伴い酒屋が減る
分はその通りである事
一 運上の儀について、江戸並びに御料は公儀へ納め、私領方は地
頭へ取り立てること
一 運上の員数は、今まで酒商売の値段の五割程も高
値になる積もりで運上を取り立てるべきこと。酒の善悪に応じて値段に
高低があることから、少しの過不足は構わず、大概右の通り

1. Because there are many sake merchants and the common people drink sake
excessively and commit improper acts, sake transportation taxes will now be
collected, and sake prices will be raised according to these taxes so that
the common people will not drink much sake. Accordingly, the reduction in
sake shops will proceed as such
1. Regarding the transportation tax matter, Edo and imperial lands shall pay to
the bakufu, while private domains shall collect from their local lords
1. The amount of transportation tax should be collected at a rate that makes
sake prices about 50% higher than current commercial prices. Since there
