各人ノ通情ニ𬼀苟モ性ヲ禀ル者ハ必ス此
心ヲ固有セザル者ナカルヘシ而唯タ之ヲ
希望スルモ其ノ之ヲ保存スル法方ト之ヲ
行フ所以ノ理由トヲ知ラサレハ大ニ誤ル

生命の貴重なことは一般民衆がよく知るところである。
誰が早死にや短命を望む者があろうか。あらゆる手段
方法を用いて生命の保存を希望するのは
各人の共通の情である。おおよそ生まれついた性質を持つ者は必ずこの
心を生来持たない者はないであろう。しかしただこれを
希望するだけでも、それを保存する方法とそれを
行う理由とを知らなければ大いに誤る

Preface
The preciousness of life is well known among the general populace.
Who would desire premature death or a short life? Using all manner of methods
and approaches to hope for the preservation of life is

hoping for this alone, if one does not know the methods to preserve it and the
