一、同月、御城石垣御普請の節、寸志として罷り出て自身働きいたしたことが、特に優れた儀と思し召しの段を仰せ出され、御酒を下し置かれた。

Item: In the tenth month of Bunka 14, Year of the Ox (1817), in recognition of his diligent and exemplary performance in military drills (sōren), he was awarded one new spearhead (atarashimi no yari, issui) as a mark of commendation.
Item: In the same month, during the repair works on the castle stone walls, he voluntarily presented himself and performed manual labor as an act of personal devotion. This was declared by the lord to be a matter of particularly notable conduct, and he was presented with sake as a reward.
