現代語訳

十八丁余り：当駅（浦和）には埼玉県庁がある。駅の入り口には、延喜式に記載された古社である御調神社がある。境内は広く、樹木が青々と茂っているため、この場所を公園地とし、勧業仮博物館が設けられ、県内の物産を陳列している。また、綿段通（めんだんつう）の織場を建設して、女生徒に織り方を教授している。駅内には埼玉県立中学師範学校、ならびに浦和書籍館がある。針ヶ谷村には近年、茶園や梨畑が開かれた。

○大宮 二里余り：
氷川神社は駅のそばにある。当社は延喜式に記載された古社であり、武蔵国一の宮、官幣大社である。祭神は素戔嗚尊（スサノオノミコト）といい、例祭は六月十五日である。天神橋間の駅にて、漬物の辛子巻きを名物としている。同所には浅間（神社）の（以下次ページへ続く）

Approximately 18 chō: At this station (Urawa), the Saitama Prefectural Government Office is located. At the entrance to the station stands the Mitsugijinja, an ancient shrine listed in the Engishiki. As the shrine grounds are vast and trees grow lushly, this place has been designated a public park, where a Provisional Industrial Museum (Kangyō Kari Hakubutsukan) has been established to display the products of the prefecture. Furthermore, a weaving workshop for mendantsū (wool carpet) has been constructed, where female students are taught weaving techniques. Within the station area, there is also the Saitama Prefectural Middle School and Normal School, as well as the Urawa Library.
In recent years, tea gardens and pear orchards have been opened in Harigaya village.

Hikawa Shrine is located beside the station. This shrine is an ancient one listed in the Engishiki, and serves as the Ichinomiya (chief shrine) of Musashi Province, designated as a Kanpei Taisha (grand shrine receiving imperial offerings). The enshrined deity is Susanoo no Mikoto, and the annual festival is held on the 15th day of the sixth month.
