差上申一札之事
兼々被 仰出候博奕賭之諸勝負者不及
申惣而 御法度筋厳重相守可申候中ニハ
心得違之者有之御差押ニ相成奉恐入候向後ハ
五人組限り相立厳敷申合御法度筋急度
為相守可申候万一心得違之者御座候者隣家
組合之者より精々異見差加江不相用組合
之内壱人たり共如何敷儀被及御聞何
様之蒙 御沙汰候共一言之申訳仕間鋪候
依之一同連印仕差上申候処相違無御座候

現代語訳
差し上げ申す一札の件
かねがね仰せ出されている博打・賭け事の諸勝負については申すまでもなく、すべて御法度の筋を厳重に相守るべきところ、心得違いの者があり、御差し押さえとなり恐れ入っております。今後は五人組限りで相立て、厳しく申し合わせ、御法度の筋をきっと守るべく申し候。万一心得違いの者がございました場合は、隣家・組合の者より十分に異見を差し加え、それに従わず組合の内一人たりとも不届きな儀がお聞き及びとなり、いかような御沙汰を蒙ろうとも、一言の申し訳は仕りません。
よって一同連印して差し上げ申し候ところ、相違ございません。

A Written Pledge Submitted
Regarding gambling and betting on various games, which have long been strictly forbidden by your orders, we pledge to rigorously observe all prohibited matters. However, there have been those who misunderstood their obligations, resulting in official seizures, for which we deeply apologize. Henceforth, we shall establish strict agreements within our five-household groups and absolutely observe the prohibited matters. Should there be anyone who misunderstands their obligations, neighboring households and group members will earnestly admonish them. If they do not comply and any member of our group commits improper acts that come to your attention, regardless of what punishment we may receive, we shall offer no excuses whatsoever.
Therefore, we all affix our seals together and submit this pledge, and there are no discrepancies in our commitment.
