兼々被 仰出候博奕賭之諸勝負者不及ぶ申
惣而御法度筋厳重相守可申候中ニ者心得違
之者有之御差押相成重々奉恐入候向後者
五人組限相互厳敷申合御法度筋急度為
相守可申候万一心得違之者御座候ハゝ隣家
組合之者ゟ精々異見差加江改心為仕其上も
不相用組合之内壱人たり共如何敷義被及
御聞何様之蒙 御沙汰候共一言之申訳
仕間敷候依之一同連印仕差上申候処相違無
御座候以上

差し上げ申す一札の事
かねがね仰せ出されている博奕賭けの諸勝負は申すまでもなく、すべて御法度筋を厳重に相守り申すべく候。中には心得違いの者がおり、御差し押さえとなり、重々恐れ入っております。今後は五人組限りで相互に厳しく申し合わせ、御法度筋をきっと相守り申すべく候。万一心得違いの者がいる場合には、隣家組合の者から精々異見を差し加え改心させ、その上でも用いない場合、組合の内一人たりとも如何なる儀が御聞きに及び、何様の御沙汰を蒙ろうとも、一言の申し訳はいたしません。これにより一同連印いたし差し上げ申す処、相違ございません。以上

Written Pledge Respectfully Submitted
Regarding gambling and betting on various games of chance that have long been prohibited by official decree, it goes without saying that we shall strictly observe all prohibited matters. Among us there have been those who acted contrary to regulations, resulting in official seizures, for which we are deeply ashamed. Hereafter, within our five-household groups, we shall mutually make strict agreements and certainly observe the prohibited matters. Should there be anyone who acts contrary to regulations, the neighboring households in the group shall earnestly admonish them to reform their ways. If even after such efforts they do not comply, and should any improper matter concerning even one person from our group come to official attention, regardless of what judgment we may receive, we shall offer no excuses whatsoever. Therefore, we all jointly affix our seals and respectfully submit this pledge, which is without error. The above.
