【差し紙（貼り紙による通達）】
○上水や堀に異物・飾り物を流すことは御法度であるとして、その旨を毎年通達しているにもかかわらず、家来たちが誤って理解しているのか、上水や御堀に捨てる者がいると聞き及んでいる。そのような者がいれば、後日吟味（取り調べ）を行うので、家来たちへ厳しく申し付けるように。以上。
七月十三日 追って組支配へも 目付中
○手紙をもって申し達する。貴殿の屋敷ならびに泉水（庭の池・水路）の流れを御堀へ落とさないよう、今後は上水の通りへ流すようにされたい。なお、隣家と相談して取り決めることは差し支えない。詳細については都筑三郎右左衛門が連絡するので、ご承知おきください。以上。

中升太郎左衛門殿へ 中根十郎左衛門殿へ 下山彦三殿へ 飯田作左衛門殿へ 大木与五右衛門殿へ それぞれ一通ずつ遣わす。
○手紙をもって申し達する。殿様が当十五日に御登城なさったところ、御機嫌がすぐれず、駕籠（乗り物）を降りられてからそのまま直接お入りになるという、ただならぬご様子であった旨をお知らせする。このことを仲間（同僚）中へ早速お伝えください。以上。

【Notice (Attached Paper Communication)】
○ It has been announced every year that it is strictly prohibited to discharge foreign objects or decorative items into the upper waterways (jōsui) or the castle moat. However, it appears that some retainers have misunderstood this regulation, and it has come to our attention that there are those who dispose of such things into the upper waterways or the castle moat. Should any such persons be found, they will be subject to investigation at a later date. Therefore, please issue strict orders to your retainers accordingly. The above is hereby communicated.
13th day of the 7th month [Also to be forwarded to unit commanders] The Inspectors (Metsuke)
○ I am writing to inform you that water from your residence and garden pond/waterway should not be discharged into the castle moat; henceforth, please direct such water into the upper waterway channels. You may consult and make arrangements with neighboring households as needed. For further details, Tsuzuki Saburōuemon will be in contact. Please be duly informed. The above is hereby communicated.

○ I am writing to inform you that when our Lord attended the castle on the 15th of this month, he was not in good health and proceeded directly inside immediately upon descending from his palanquin — a most grave state of affairs. Please inform your colleagues of this as quickly as possible. The above is hereby communicated.
