一、私の領分信州高井郡の内、一昨日二十四日亥の刻頃、地震が強く、陣屋並びに家来の居宅・長屋向きがひどく損傷し、村々の百姓家がことごとく震動で潰れ、田畑が裂けて割れた所が数ヶ所あり、割れ目から砂泥が吹き出し、耕地に押し入っております。今もなお地震が続いております。私の領分では人馬の怪我等はございません。もっとも善光寺参詣や出稼ぎ等で出かけている者たちの内に死失者もいるかもしれませんが、この件についてはまだ詳細が分からず、調査の上で追って申し上げます。まずはこの段御届け申し上げます。以上

Report: In my domain territory of Takai District in Shinano Province, on the 24th of this month around the hour of the boar, there was a strong earthquake. The administrative office (jinya) and the residences and barracks of my retainers were severely damaged. All the peasant houses in the villages collapsed from the shaking. Fields and rice paddies cracked and split in numerous places, with sand and mud gushing out from the fissures and flowing into the cultivated lands. Earthquakes continue to this day. In my domain territory, there were no injuries to people or horses. However, there may be fatalities among those who had traveled for pilgrimage to Zenkoji Temple or for seasonal work elsewhere. Details regarding this matter are not yet clear, and I will report further after investigation. I hereby submit this preliminary report.
