安政2年10月2日夜四つ時、江戸四里四方で地震が突然発生し、大破壊した事は数え切れない。倒壊家屋から出火し、死人・怪我人が甚だ多く、その中でも無事だった者は誠に神仏の御加護であろう。遠国・他国の縁者へ知らせるにも、詳細を知るのが困難である。これによって各所を一目で見やすくするため、出火の場所を番付にして詳細に知らせることは以下の通りである。

On the night of October 2nd, Ansei 2 (1855), at the hour of four, an earthquake suddenly struck within a four-ri radius of Edo, causing countless destruction. Fires broke out from collapsed houses, and there were extremely many dead and injured. Those who remained safe among them were truly blessed by the divine protection of gods and buddhas. It is difficult to obtain detailed information to notify relatives in distant provinces and other countries. Therefore, to make various locations easily visible at a glance, the fire locations are arranged in a ranking format and detailed information is provided as follows.
