1. In Shin-Yoshiwara, all the districts - Edo-machi, Kyō-machi, Sumi-machi, Ageya-machi, Fushimi-chō, and Naka-no-chō - the entire pleasure quarter collapsed from the shaking without exception. Moreover, due to fires that broke out, approximately 2,300 people died, and the number of injured was countless. Along with the official notice board outside the Great Gate, this riverside area survived the fire, while the right side burned. The ground of Nihon-zutsumi cracked, and every single storehouse in the pleasure quarter burned completely. Fire broke out from Ta-machi, and the northern parts of 1st district, 2nd district, Sodesuri Inari, Dote-shita, and Amigasa teahouse remained. However, all were collapsed.
