大納言様付女中へ御贈物の儀、去年までは西丸へ御登城の節遣わされ候得共、当年より御本丸へ御登城の節遣わされ候段、御用番松平右近将監（武元）殿并びに大納言様御付御老中秋元但馬守（涼朝）殿へ御使者、御留守居加藤長右衛門（正敏）を以って御達し有之。
但し、大納言様御付女中へ御贈物の儀、此度より御本丸へ御登城の節御贈りに相成り候様致したき旨、御年寄りより兼ねて内達有之につき、御老中堀田相模守殿へ御内意相伺い候処、御承知有之、御用番並びに西丸御老中へ相達し候様、相模守殿御差図の段、申し達すべき旨仰せ聞けられ之。

Note: As there will be no escort attendant from this year, one additional ladies' palanquin has been added, making eight palanquins in total, with four palanquin bearers and two hip-side attendants (koshizoe). The matter of obtaining clearance at the kitte gate was communicated to Den'uemon.
One item: As one palanquin attendant (okago-tsuki) alone would be insufficient for making inquiries, the addition of one more palanquin attendant to enter within the castle grounds was communicated in the same manner as above.

Concerning the matter of gifts to the ladies-in-waiting attached to the Dainagon, whereas until last year the gifts had been presented on the occasion of the visit to the Nishi-maru (Western Citadel), from this year they are to be presented on the occasion of the visit to the Hon-maru (Main Citadel). Notification of this was made by sending the caretaker official (o-rusuii), Katō Chōuemon (Masatoshi), as a messenger to the duty elder (go-yōban), Matsudaira Ukon-no-shōgen (Takemoto), and also to the senior councilor assigned to the Dainagon, Akimoto Tajima-no-kami (Suzutomo).
Note: As the senior ladies-in-waiting (otoshiyori) had previously communicated informally that they wished henceforth for the gifts to the ladies attached to the Dainagon to be presented on the occasion of visits to the Hon-maru, we had inquired discreetly of Senior Councilor Hotta Sagami-no-kami, who gave his assent, and it was communicated to us that we should relay his instructions to the duty elder and the senior councilors of the Nishi-maru accordingly.
