御不申御手伝御用掛り之御役人共罷出候処御逢有之御逢之
儀朔廿日御留守居以被仰
一 同日柳原御小屋場江為御内見分 御出被成
一 同月廿三日於柳原御小屋場日光御普請 初御規式有之
ニ付御小屋場江御 被成其節御用掛御老中本多中務大輔忠良殿
初御用掛りの御役人中も出席有之
但御用掛り御役人共も不残相詰
一 同日徳川刑部卿宗 様御御簾中根御安産ニ付為御歓御用番
幷 西丸御老中江御使者御留守居被指出之
一 同日日光御普請御手伝被 仰 候ニ付左の通御自筆を以
御家中江増御借米罷 仰出
日光御修復御手伝被 仰付本望至極難有儀ニ候
何方被 仰付候自も御用之儀難有可相勤儀勿

一、八月十九日、運正寺において照光院様の百カ日御法事並びに御石塔御成就御供養が行われた。
一、同月二十一日、御老中松平左近将監衆邑殿へ御逢対御勤めをした。
一、同日、西丸御老中松平能登守乗賢殿へ御逢対御勤めをした。
一、同日、日光御普請御用掛へ、御老中本多中務大輔忠良殿へ今度御普請御手伝御用掛りの御役人共が出向いたところ御逢いがあり、その件については二十日に御留守居を以て仰せられた。
一、同日、柳原御小屋場へ御内見分のため御出になられた。
一、同月二十三日、柳原御小屋場において日光御普請初御規式が行われたにつき、御小屋場へお出ましになられた。その節、御用掛御老中本多中務大輔忠良殿をはじめ御用掛りの御役人中も出席した。
ただし御用掛り御役人共も残らず詰めていた。
一、同日、徳川刑部卿宗［ ］様の御御簾中が御安産につき御祝いのため、御用番並びに西丸御老中へ御使者御留守居を指し出した。
一、同日、日光御普請御手伝いを仰せ付けられたにつき、左の通り御自筆をもって御家中へ増御借米を仰せ出した。
「日光御修復御手伝いを仰せ付けられ本望至極有難き儀に候。何れより仰せ付けられ候とも御用の儀有難く相勤むべき儀勿［論］

1. On the 19th day of the 8th month, at Unshōji Temple, the 100th-day memorial service for Shōkōin-sama and the completion blessing of the stone pagoda were held.
1. On the 21st day of the same month, performed duty of audience with Senior Councilor Matsudaira Sakon-shōgen Shūyū.
1. On the same day, performed duty of audience with Nishinomaru Senior Councilor Matsudaira Noto-no-kami Norimasa.
1. On the same day, regarding the Nikkō construction project supervisor, when the officials in charge of this construction assistance project went to Senior Councilor Honda Nakatsukasa-dayū Tadayoshi, there was an audience, and this matter was conveyed through the estate keeper on the 20th.
1. On the same day, went out to the Yanagihara construction site for private inspection.
1. On the 23rd day of the same month, the initial ceremony for the Nikkō construction project was held at the Yanagihara construction site, and [the lord] went to the construction site. On that occasion, Senior Councilor Honda Nakatsukasa-dayū Tadayoshi, who was in charge of the project, and other officials in charge also attended.
However, all the officials in charge were present without exception.
1. On the same day, regarding the safe delivery of Tokugawa Gyōbu-kyō Mune[?]-sama's wife, messengers and estate keepers were dispatched to the duty officer and Nishinomaru senior councilors for congratulations.
1. On the same day, since assistance for the Nikkō construction project was ordered, the following was announced in [the lord's] own handwriting to the retainers regarding additional rice loans:
"Being ordered to assist with the Nikkō restoration is an extremely honorable and grateful matter. No matter what [duties] are ordered, serving in official matters is grateful and should be performed without [question]..."
