弐十坪宛二方四十坪引ステ小
角は二二之四坪ト自乗高三間
を掛三四十二坪引払十二間
ト知高サ一間加十三間ト云

現代語訳

二十坪ずつ二方で四十坪を引き捨て、小
角は二二の四坪と自乗し、高さ三間を
掛けて三四の十二坪を引き払い、十二間
と知る。高さ一間加えて十三間と云う。

英語訳

Twenty tsubo each for two sides [gives] forty tsubo, which is subtracted and discarded. The small corner is two-times-two giving four tsubo [self-multiplied], multiplied by the height of three ken, giving three-four of twelve tsubo, which is subtracted and cleared — [the length/width is thus] known to be 12 ken. Adding one ken to the height [gives] 13 ken, as stated.
