御礼のお手紙、拝見いたしました。
あなたは此度、小梁川の家督を相続するよう
仰せ付けられ、
御知行（ご領地）および御一家（家中の待遇）も
従来と変わらず仰せ付けられ、
また古中務の娘と婚姻の
取り合わせをなされるようにとの
お沙汰につき、御礼として使者をもって、

御太刀および馬代（馬の代わりの金銭）を
献上なされました。
その趣旨を（上位の方へ）披露（取り次ぎ・ご報告）いたしました。
恐々謹言

We have duly received and reviewed your letter of formal greeting.
You have been ordered to succeed to the headship of the Koyanagiwa family on this occasion,
and it has further been ordered that your stipend (*chigyo*) and your standing within the broader family (*ichike*) shall remain unchanged as before.
Additionally, it has been arranged that you shall be united in marriage with the daughter of the former *Nakatsukasa* [a person with the court title of *Nakatsukasa*].
In gratitude for these orders, you have dispatched a messenger,

and presented a ceremonial sword (*ōtachi*) and a monetary substitute for a horse (*umashiro*).
We have duly reported the contents of this letter [to the lord/relevant authority].
