これは桃栗三年柿八年の話である。
猿が柿の種を拾った。これは
水分がありそうな
ものであるが、蟹が
拾った焼き飯は
つまらないものである。しかし
腰弁当からでも
落としたものかどうかわからない。
その焼き飯と
柿の種とを取り替えて
拾うくらいの根性で
柿の種と取り替えるのも
おかしい。ただし
焼き飯が酸っぱくなっているのも
知らずに思うに
猿がどうしても
鼻っ柱が強いと
見えた。

This is a story from "peaches and chestnuts take three years, persimmons take eight years."
A monkey picked up persimmon seeds. These
seemed to contain
moisture,
but the cooked rice that the crab
picked up was
worthless. However,
it was unclear whether it had been
dropped from someone's lunch box.
With the kind of attitude that would
pick up that cooked rice and
exchange it for persimmon seeds,
trading for persimmon seeds was
also amusing. However,
not knowing that
the cooked rice had gone sour,
it seemed that
the monkey was
decidedly stubborn
and proud.
