めて浜町のやとりを出大川橋わたりて小梅の水戸殿のやしき
より一条のみちを用水にそふて東に行ことしば〳〵にて途の
かたはらに牓示あり右江戸大川橋へ三十町左り新宿松戸へ
弐里と記す爰に逕あり南にゆけは木下川薬師北へゆけは
梅若山王へゆくよしもみゆこゝを過て猶ゆく四辻あり
東へ直に行は新宿南へ神に用水の橋をわたりて水の南のふち
をゆけは市川へ出るしりへの左りの方西北のかたは橋場街道也

半田稲荷参詣の記【葛飾区】
文化十四年丑年の六月十五日【1817年7月28日】半田稲荷に参拝しようと朝食を済ませて浜町の宿を出て、大川橋を渡って小梅の水戸殿の屋敷より一筋の道を用水に沿って東に行くこと度々で、道の傍らに標示があり「右 江戸大川橋まで三十町、左 新宿松戸まで二里」と記してある。ここに小道があり、南に行けば木下川薬師、北へ行けば梅若山王へ行くことも見える。ここを過ぎてなお行くと四つ辻があり、東へまっすぐ行けば新宿、南へ向かい用水の橋を渡って水の南の縁を行けば市川へ出る。後ろの左の方、西北の方は橋場街道である。

Record of Pilgrimage to Handa Inari【Katsushika Ward】
On the 15th day of the 6th month of Bunka 14, year of the Ox【July 28, 1817】, intending to worship at Handa Inari, I finished breakfast and left the inn at Hamachō, crossed Ōkawa Bridge, and from the Mito lord's residence at Koume, took a single road eastward along the waterway for some distance. Along the roadside there was a signpost reading "Right: to Edo Ōkawa Bridge, 30 chō; Left: to Shinjuku Matsudo, 2 ri." Here there was a path - going south leads to Kinegawa Yakushi, going north leads to Umewaka Sannō. Passing this point and continuing further, there was a four-way intersection. Going straight east leads to Shinjuku; going south and crossing the waterway bridge, then following the southern edge of the water leads to Ichikawa. The left side behind, the northwest direction, is the Hashiba highway.
