○大和国南都（奈良） 十五日暁の丑の八つ時（午前2時頃）より地震、朝の五つ時（午前8時頃）に大揺れ。家屋の七、八割が崩れ、即死者三百余人、怪我人は数知れず。
○同じく古市・木津辺り 同刻、特にひどく揺れ、地面が裂け割れ、泥水が噴き出し、死人・怪我人が多数出た。
同じく郡山 同刻に揺れ、丑の八つ時（午前2時頃）に大揺れ。市中の三割の家屋が倒壊。死者およそ百二、三十人、怪我人多数。すべてこの近隣も同様の被害。

**The Great Earthquake of the 14th Night of the 6th Month of Kaei 7th Year (1854), Year of the Tiger**

○ **Nanto (Nara), Yamato Province** — From around the Hour of the Ox, Eighth Watch (approx. 2:00 AM) on the morning of the 15th, earthquakes struck; a great tremor hit at the Fifth Hour (approx. 8:00 AM). Seven to eight parts in ten of all houses collapsed. Immediate deaths exceeded 300 people; the number of injured was beyond counting.
○ **Furuichi and Kizu areas (same province)** — At the same time, the shaking was particularly severe. The ground split and cracked, and muddy water gushed forth. Numerous deaths and injuries resulted.
**Koriyama (same province)** — Shook at the same time, with a great tremor at the Eighth Watch of the Hour of the Ox (approx. 2:00 AM). Three parts in ten of houses in the town collapsed. Deaths numbered approximately 120–130; injuries were numerous. All nearby villages suffered the same devastation.
