●〇近来諸国在々所々ニ而ミかさつけと申事はやり候由相聞候博奕同事ニ付御料私領ニおゐて急度制禁
あるへく候惣而何事ニよらす如斯の事相催候ニおゐてハ其頭取并取持候者共からめ置早速注進ある

右九月廿一日大御目付横田備中守殿ニ而御書付御留守居共へ御渡御屋敷御領分中堅被仰付候様ニ被仰渡
同十月二日御家中并町在々可相触旨目付中へ本多修理被申渡
〇於江戸表従公儀別紙之趣被仰出候間被得其意みかさ付仕間敷候御当地ハ不及申他所へ罷出候共左
様之儀堅相慎可申候且又兼而御法度之通博奕ニ似寄候慰事等も堅仕間敷候右之段々下々へも急度

**一、正徳五未年（1715年）**
御法度帳の写し
●〇 近年、諸国の在々所々において「みかさつけ」と申すことが流行っているとのことが聞こえてくる。これは博奕と同じことであるから、御料・私領において早急に厳しく禁止すること。そもそも、いかなることによらず、このような催しを行う者がいる場合は、その首謀者ならびに取り持ちをした者どもを捕縛し、速やかに上申すること。
未年九月
右について、九月二十一日に大御目付・横田備中守殿において、御書付を御留守居たちへお渡しになり、御屋敷・御領分中に対して厳しく命じられるようにとのご指示があった。
同年十月二日、御家中ならびに町・在々へ触れ回すべき旨を、目付中へ本多修理より申し渡した。
〇 江戸表において公儀より別紙の趣が仰せ出された。その意を心得て、みかさ付を行ってはならない。当地はもちろんのこと、他所へ出向いた場合も同様に、かかることを堅く慎むこと。また、かねてより御法度の通り、博奕に似寄った慰み事等も堅く行ってはならない。右の条々について、下々へも厳しく申し付けること。以上。

**一、享保四亥年（1719年）**
〇 三笠博奕はすでに御停止（禁止）であるところ、このごろ武士の屋敷ならびに寺社においても右の博奕を行っているとの風聞がある。かようなことは、とりわけ行ってはならないことである。これまでは町方のみを改めていたが、今後は武士の屋敷・寺社に至るまで改め、もし右のような事実があれば、厳しく御詮議を遂げるべき旨が仰せ出された。その旨を心得て、常々堅く申し付けること。
右の趣を触れ回すこと。以上。
亥七月
〇 このたび公儀より仰せ出された三笠博奕御制禁の儀は、別紙書付の通りである。面々はその意を心得、とりわけ江戸表へ赴く者どもはよくよく心得るべきこととする。もっとも、博奕の儀はかねてより御法度であるから申すまでもなく、自然と博奕に似寄った儀も堅く行ってはならない。以上。

**一、享保三戌年（1718年）**
新金銀をもって当戌年十一月より通用すべき覚
一、金の吹き直しが仰せ付けられ、順次出来上がってきたことによって、最初に触れた通り、来亥年を期限として乾字金の通用を停止する。よって今後、諸色（諸物価）を相対にて値段を決めることはそれぞれ別として、献上金・下され金、あるいは給金・借金・払い残し金等、すべて以前から定められてきた員数（金額）によって通用することについては、左の通り仰せ出された。
付：乾字金にて何両と申し取り遣りしていたものについても、当戌年十一月より新金にて何両と申し取り遣りすること。もっとも乾字金の通用がある間は、新金の代わりに乾字金引替の法をもって遣うことは勝手次第とする。
一、金は正味（純度）に有用に吹き直され、足し金が不要となったため、右のように出来上がったが、銀は生（なま）銀の不足があることによって灰吹銀にて吹き直しが仰せ付けられ、□員数に随って通用することについては、これまた左の通り仰せ付けられた。
付：通用銀にて何枚何貫目と申し取り遣りしていたものについても、当戌年十一月より新銀にて何枚何貫匁と申し取り遣りすること。通用銀等の通用がある間は、新銀の代わりに通用銀引替の法をもって遣うことは勝手次第とする。
一、乾字金の引替は当戌年より来る寅年まで五か年を限りとする。元禄金の引替は来る寅年を限りとする。
新金銀引替之法
乾字金・元禄金と新金との引替は、これまでの通り相違ない。

**1. Shōtoku 5, Year of the Sheep (1715)**
Copy of the Book of Laws and Prohibitions
●〇 It has come to our attention that in recent years, a practice called "mikasatsuke" has been spreading throughout villages across the country. As this is equivalent to gambling, it shall be strictly prohibited in both shogunal demesne (goryō) and private domains (shiryō). In all matters, should anyone be found organizing such activities, the ringleaders and those who facilitated or hosted such events shall be apprehended, and the matter reported without delay.
Ninth month, Year of the Sheep
Regarding the above: on the 21st day of the ninth month, at the office of Senior Inspector (Ō-metsuke) Yokota Bitchū-no-kami, the written decree was distributed to the domain's Edo representatives (rusui), with instructions to enforce the prohibition strictly throughout the domain's residences and territories.
On the 2nd day of the tenth month of the same year, Honda Shuri directed the inspectors (metsuke) to disseminate this to all domain retainers as well as to towns and villages.
〇 The shogunate has issued a decree from Edo, the contents of which are set forth on an attached document. All parties are to understand its meaning and must not engage in mikasatsuke. This prohibition applies not only here in our domain but also when traveling elsewhere; such matters are to be strictly refrained from. Furthermore, as has long been prohibited by law, any entertainment resembling gambling is equally forbidden. The foregoing shall be strictly conveyed to those of lower station. The above.

**1. Kyōhō 4, Year of the Boar (1719)**
〇 Although the Mikasa gambling game has already been prohibited, there are reports that said gambling is being conducted in samurai residences as well as in temples and shrines. Such conduct is especially impermissible. Whereas until now only the townspeople's quarter (machiyata) had been subject to inspection, henceforth inspections shall extend to samurai residences and temple and shrine precincts alike; should any such violations be found, strict investigation shall be undertaken. This decree has been issued, and all parties are to take note and maintain firm prohibitions at all times.
The above shall be disseminated accordingly. The above.
Seventh month, Year of the Boar
〇 The prohibition on Mikasa gambling recently issued by the shogunate is as described in the attached document. All parties are to understand its meaning; in particular, those traveling to Edo are to be fully cognizant of the matter. It goes without saying that gambling has long been prohibited by law, and any activities resembling gambling are likewise strictly forbidden. The above.

**1. Kyōhō 3, Year of the Dog (1718)**
Memorandum on the Circulation of New Gold and Silver Coin from the Eleventh Month of the Current Year of the Dog
1. As the reminting of gold coins has been ordered and production has proceeded accordingly, as previously announced, the circulation of Kanji gold coins (kanjikin) shall cease at the end of the coming Year of the Boar (亥年). Henceforth, while the negotiation of prices for various goods by mutual agreement (aite) shall be a separate matter, for matters such as tribute payments, disbursements, stipends, loans, outstanding payments, and the like—all of which have been conducted according to previously established denominations—circulation shall proceed as stated below.
Addendum: Even where transactions were previously conducted in terms of a certain number of ryō in Kanjikin, from the eleventh month of the current Year of the Dog, transactions shall be denominated in the equivalent amount of new gold coin. During the period when Kanjikin remains in circulation, it may, at the discretion of the parties involved, be exchanged for new gold coin at the prescribed exchange rate.
1. Although gold has been reminted to full purity (shōmi) and no supplement was necessary, there is a shortage of raw silver (nama-gin), and therefore the reminting of silver using haifuki-gin (silver refined by the cupellation method) has been ordered, with circulation to proceed according to the prescribed quantities as stated below.
Addendum: Even where transactions were previously conducted in terms of a certain number of coins or monme in circulation silver, from the eleventh month of the current Year of the Dog, transactions shall be denominated in the equivalent amount of new silver coin. During the period when old circulation silver remains in circulation, it may, at the discretion of the parties involved, be exchanged for new silver coin at the prescribed exchange rate.
1. The exchange period for Kanjikin shall be limited to five years, from the current Year of the Dog through the coming Year of the Tiger. The exchange period for Genroku gold coins shall be limited to the coming Year of the Tiger.
Rules for Exchanging New Gold and Silver Coin
The exchange of Kanjikin and Genroku gold coins for new gold coin shall proceed without change as before.
For Keichō old silver coin and new silver coin, per ten monme of silver— *(continued on next page)*
