法：二十一匁を七つに割れば三匁ずつになる。右にこれを置いて、また左にて七つと置いて一つ引けば六つ残る。この六つに六分をかければ三匁六分となる。これを二つに割れば一匁八分となる。これを右の三匁に加える時、四匁八分と知れる。これに六分ずつ引き取るなり。

Method: Divide 21 monme by 7, which gives 3 monme each. Place this on the right. Then, on the left, write 7; subtract 1, and 6 remains. Multiply this 6 by 6 bu, giving 3 monme 6 bu. Divide this by 2, giving 1 monme 8 bu. Add this to the 3 monme on the right, and you will find the answer to be 4 monme 8 bu. From this, subtract 6 bu successively [for each subsequent pot].

When these four kinds of goods are purchased together for 160 kan-me in silver, three persons pool their silver to pay for them. Of the total:

○ 42 kan 900 me is put in by a merchant from Osaka.
When the four kinds of purchased goods are to be distributed among the three in proportion to the amount of silver each contributed, how much does each person receive?
