和 気（け）真綱（まつな）に勅（ちよく）して幣（へい）をさゝげ。くやうし給へは。
くろ雲一天におほひ。いかつち。いなびかり。おび
たゝしく池の水わきあがり。三日まで雨ふり
ければ。天下あまねくうるほして。人みなよろこひ
給ひけり。みかとをはしめ奉り。公卿臣下かんたん
し給ひにけり。すなはち此池に。善女竜わうを
とゝめ給ふ。今も神泉苑にとゝまり給ひ雨をいの

和気真綱に勅命を下して幣を捧げ供養させると、黒雲が一面に空を覆い、雷鳴と稲光が激しく起こり、池の水が湧き上がり、三日間雨が降り続いた。天下がくまなく潤い、人々は皆喜んだ。帝をはじめ奉り、公卿・臣下も感嘆された。そこでこの池に善女竜王をとどめ置かれた。今も神泉苑にとどまっていらっしゃり、雨を祈ると必ず霊験あらたかである。

英語訳

The Emperor issued an imperial command to Wake no Matsuna to offer sacred offerings and perform worship. Thereupon, black clouds covered the entire sky, thunder and lightning occurred violently, the pond waters surged up, and rain fell for three days. The whole realm was thoroughly moistened, and all the people rejoiced. Beginning with the Emperor, the court nobles and ministers were deeply moved with admiration. Thus, the Good Woman Dragon King was made to remain in this pond. Even now she stays at Shinsen-en Garden, and when one prays for rain, her divine response is unfailingly efficacious.
