御手紙致拝見候昨日持参仕候
口上書南部大膳殿え昨晩
御持参被成以御取次被仰入候
処大膳殿御直
濃州様え御返事被仰達候は
此方ゟ之書付御受取被成候
早々御在所え被仰遣新規
之塚築足候様可被仰
遣候併百性計双方ゟ
御出し候て若下にて何角と
も論候得は如何候間軽
侍両人程御出し可有と思

お手紙を拝見いたしました。昨日持参いたしました口上書を、南部大膳殿へ昨晩お持ちになり、お取次ぎをもってお申し入れいただいたところ、大膳殿が直接、濃州様へご返答をお伝えになりましたことには、
「こちらからの書付をお受け取りになりましたら、早々にご在所へお申し送りいただき、新たに塚を築き足すよう、ご命令をお遣わしください。ただし、百姓だけを双方から出しますと、もし現地で何かと論争になった場合に差し障りがありますので、軽い侍（下級武士）を両人ほどお出しになるとよいかと存じます。お国廻りのご来訪がないうちに、後の塚も仕上げてしまうよう、お申し付けください。南部領は遠方でございますので、早々にお申し送りください。こちらへ内々にお知らせいただく際、時分などを申し合わせる段取りをしていただけますでしょうか。」
とのご意向でございました。右の件につきまして、まことに念を入れてくださり、何も隠すことなくお伝えいただいたとのこと、委細をお申し越しいただいたようにと、濃州様のお考えである旨、承知いたしました。そして、ご書状の通り陸奥殿へ申し聞かせましたところ、念を入れてくださっているご事情であると存じるとのご様子を拝察し、罷り上がりましてご意向・ご指図次第に首尾よく取り計らうべき旨、お申し付けいただきました。以上。

英語訳
I have read your letter. Regarding the written statement I brought yesterday, which you then brought to Lord Nanbu Daizen last evening and submitted through his intermediary: Lord Daizen directly conveyed a reply to Lord Nōshū, to the effect that:
"Once you have received the document from our side, please send word to your domain without delay, instructing them to construct and add the new boundary mounds. However, if only peasants are sent from both sides and some dispute arises on-site, it could prove troublesome. Therefore, I believe it would be advisable to send about two lower-ranking samurai as well. Please give instructions for the rear mounds to also be completed before your lord's inspection tour arrives. As the Nanbu domain is quite far away, please send word promptly. I would also ask that when you inform us confidentially, arrangements be made regarding the timing."
I have duly noted that Lord Nōshū's intention was that these matters be conveyed to you in full detail, without any concealment, and that he was grateful for the careful consideration shown. I then informed Lord Mutsu exactly as stated in your letter, and judging from his demeanor, he appeared to regard the matter as one handled with great care. He has instructed me to proceed to meet with him and carry out the matter satisfactorily in accordance with his guidance and directions. That is all.
