On the 28th day of the same month of the same year, the following was communicated orally to the commanders:
Regarding the sons of group members who have been sent to serve in the lord's household, so that they show no disrespect toward the samurai retainers, and since their general conduct appears improper, instructions should be given to the group members so that there are no misunderstandings in behavior.
1. On the 12th day of the 8th month of Hōei 4 (1707), Inspector Iinuma Kanbei and Hasegawa Nibei were dismissed from their posts, and on the 13th, Yano Gonpei and Watanabe Heisuke were appointed to succeed them as inspectors, with Ishikawa Jinzaemon and Ōno Sanzaemon of the attendant commanders appointed to succeed their positions. However, regarding Gonpei, he petitioned to continue serving as inspector with the group he had been supervising until now, so when Jinzaemon was consulted, he said any group would be acceptable. When Handayū reported this to the Tenzendō office, they said there was precedent for this and Gonpei's petition should be granted. This was communicated to Gonpei, and Jinzaemon was also told he would serve with Kanbei's group. However, since Jinzaemon's group became a guard unit, regarding the matter of fire prevention and security control in Katsumi village, when the initial circumstances were investigated, it was found that since Nishio Denbei was appointed as inspector, it became an inspector group. Previously, Mitera Yoemon was an attendant commander overseeing that group, which was a guard unit. Even when Denbei succeeded Yoemon, it remained an attendant commander's guard unit. Later when Denbei was appointed inspector, he petitioned and served as inspector with that group. When Yoemon and Denbei were attendant commanders with guard units, for Katsumi security control, one or two men from the inspector groups were sent daily. So everyone consulted among the four colleagues and increased the groups for various duties by one person to six, sending one person daily from among them to Katsumi to hear about all matters. They were sent from the colleague monthly duty groups. They went from 5 AM and returned around 8 AM, then went again from around 7 AM and stayed until evening. When there were special circumstances, they would stay until nightfall, and from February through April, two people were to be sent. This increase of one person for various duties was communicated to the general colleague group monthly duty officer Ogawa Yoemon. According to records from Kyōhō 8 (1723), when the Katsumi inspector group was established, the rotation patrol was discontinued. Record found in the Inspector Duties section.
1. On the 7th day of the 11th month of Shōtoku 1 (1711): Retired: Advanced Guard Commander Kumano Kakuemon; Kakuemon's successor: Garrison Commander Honda Jūrobei; Jūrobei's successor: Mizuno Tōbei.
When these appointments were made, Jūrobei petitioned that he wanted to continue serving with the group he had been supervising. When Handayū consulted with the senior councilors about this, they indicated it was at his discretion. However, since Kakuemon's group was the advanced matchlock unit and Jūrobei's group was the garrison unit, the group members were not compatible. Therefore, both Kakuemon's and Jūrobei's groups came under Tōbei's supervision.
[Red notation] 1. On the 25th day of the 7th month of Shōtoku 3 (1716), regarding the ninja under the supervision of Messenger Ihara Genbei, land measuring two ken wide by fifteen ken long for a half-bow archery range was granted, and Residence Magistrate Ochiai Zenbei was ordered to allocate it.

Record exists.
1. On the 14th day of the 4th month of Kyōhō 6 (1721), Shimoyama Seizaemon, temporary supervisor of the ninja group, reported that regarding ninja group members, when senior councilors order inspectors to communicate duties, they should not come hereafter, and duties should be communicated directly to Seizaemon, which is exceptional. This matter was reported from Tsuchiya Jūroemon's office, so it should be understood accordingly. Note: Jūroemon is the ninja group supervisor stationed in Edo.
1. On the 18th day of the 9th month of the same year, regarding Ōkubo Kihachi of Imamura Danemon's group, who performed well during a fire near Chūsho-sama's residence in Edo years ago and received special commendation from Chūsho-sama, and also performed well on subsequent occasions, Sakai Tange observed this and was told to inform his colleagues in the domain. This was communicated to Shozaemon, and now he has been promoted to the matchlock group.
1. On the 11th day of the 4th month of Kyōhō 10 (1725), town painter Mikageid Chūbei being in extreme financial difficulty, his son Kanbei was admitted to the advanced matchlock group, with plans for transfer to the garrison group when an opening becomes available. Record exists. For this, he served under the name Aoki Kanbei, but on the 16th day of the 12th month of Kyōhō 12 (1727), due to imprudence and again claiming financial difficulties, his stipend was revoked upon petition. Record exists.
1. On the 13th day of the 7th month of Kyōhō 8 (1723), Kōzuki Busaemon was appointed from attendant commander to inspector and petitioned to make his current group an inspector group and leave it as is, since he remembered managing it. Since there was precedent for this, Tange's office agreed it should be approved. Accordingly, the inspector group previously supervised by Yano Emonnosaku became a guard unit under Tomita Heizō's supervision.

However, on the 11th day of the 12th month of Kyōhō 12 (1727), due to financial difficulties and various misconduct, his stipend was revoked. Record exists.
1. On the 11th day of the 8th month of Kyōhō 11 (1726), regarding Katsumi patrol group members, initially one person each was sent from monthly duty, but since Kōzuki Busaemon's group became an inspector group, this was discontinued from that time. When there were changes, town patrol group members were notified, but due to the nature of the location, hereafter if there is even the slightest matter, Busaemon's group members should immediately report to monthly duty, as agreed among colleagues. Since this also caused hardship for Busaemon's group, one person each from night patrol was excused, as ordered to the rotating monthly duty.
1. On the 5th day of the 9th month of Kyōhō 15 (1730), Kaifuku Chūzaemon was appointed to succeed Inspector Ōtani Gizaemon and petitioned through monthly duty Busaemon to continue with his current group. Since there was precedent, the senior councilors told Busaemon to arrange for him to be assigned to the inspector group. Hereafter not recorded individually.
1. On the 3rd day of the 8th month of Kyōhō 19 (1734), regarding the eighteen men of former Matsuoka Inspector Yokota Jūemon's original group, currently under monthly duty supervision, it was announced that they would be appointed to fill openings in inspector groups. After initially accepting this, further thoughts were communicated, and they were asked to submit these in writing, which was done as follows:
Statement
Regarding the eighteen men of Yokota Jūemon's former group being appointed to fill openings in our groups, we humbly accept. However, we respectfully submit our thoughts as follows:
1. All the ashigaru under our supervision, especially in recent years, are in financial difficulty with excessive debts. The group members to be appointed are in the same situation. If debts from both sides accumulate, neither side will have any way to manage. Furthermore, for groups designated as having openings, there will certainly be no one to lend money hereafter. In such circumstances, it will be difficult for all current group members to continue their service from now on.
1. Among our group members, many have served for generations, so it has been ordered that regarding the succession of those who have served long from previous years, their wives and children should not become destitute, which we gratefully acknowledge. However, if ordered as above, the wives and children of members of disbanded groups will starve, so we cannot accept the appointment of these personnel. End
August 3rd: Tochiya Hanemon, Kaifuku Chūzaemon, Atsumi Shinemon, Takamura Shirōemon
However, on the 8th of the same month, three from among the eighteen were added to the Kanazu group with lifetime stipends of nine koku and two-person rations, as ordered. After deliberation and investigation, three from the lowest-ranking newcomers were sent. Additionally, when openings occur in inspector groups, successors may be employed at discretion, as communicated by Okabe Sazen's office. Detailed records exist. On the 23rd, detailed records exist of transfer to Kanazu.
Note: Due to shortage in the Kanazu group, Suzuki Hikodayū had privately communicated this matter, as recorded in the deliberation record of August 5th.
1. On the 3rd day of the 7th month of Genbun 1 (1736), Inspector Tochiya Hanemon was newly appointed to the financial affairs investigation role on the 1st of last month, so three from the aforementioned fifteen under monthly duty inspector supervision, plus six from Hanemon's original group, totaling nine, were assigned to Hanemon's group. On the 5th of the same month, from the supervised groups: six to Hanemon's original group, two to Entrusted Territory Magistrate Shimoyama Hanzaemon's group, three to District Magistrate Katayama Yosazemon's group, plus two newly employed, and one to Inspector Takamura Shirōemon's group were assigned as above. Note: Hanzaemon and those below were appointed as additional personnel.
