  但口上書ニ母之儀申上候節矢張御家老中へ被仰上と相認候事其余文段通例之通也 一明和二酉四月廿五日粕谷清次郎娘を川地金五右衛門後妻ニ願之通被仰付 一享保四亥六月十四日出羽国置給郡飛田村熊野権現之祠官今井左進并越中国婦負郡八幡宮之祠官富田石見  守当町ニ逗留主膳門弟ニ罷成度旨申遣候ニ付口上書出し候御家老中へ相達 一同年同月廿七日主膳相願候ハ公料池田水海村八幡之祠官原修理大夫吉田殿ゟ十八神道之得許状候得共上京難仕  訳有之吉田二位殿ゟ申来拙者方ゟ可致伝授候然処拙宅手狭候而数多之神器難取扱ニ付彼方へ五六日逗留罷越  致伝授度旨願之通被仰付候 一享保十五戌十二月二日 殿様御麻疹ニ付御座所御裏御宮ニ而粕谷次大夫へ御祈祷可被仰付処次大夫不快ニ付難相勤  左様之□□名代ニ誰を差出候哉与及穿鑿候処是迄ケ様之節不快等之儀無之■代億右衛門も御宮御用三十  年来相勤候得共左様之儀覚不申旨申達仍之神明神主牧田主水へ御祈祷被仰付五日ゟ十一日迄於御裏  御宮主水御祈祷相勤之御心断等取扱有之 一同年同月五日今度御貸札之儀寺社之分ハ御貸不被成候得共粕谷次大夫儀ハ祖父以来先ハ神道者と申者ニ而一通り  之神職とハ違御裏御宮預りニ而各別之品ニ付外寺社ヘハ障り申間敷と御役人共申談御貸被成候ニ相極ル 一同十六亥三月十八日粕谷次大夫申聞候ハ今度御発駕之節御入部之節之通私儀御本丸へ可罷出哉と相伺候ニ付其段御  奏者永見右門へ申達候処前々之通御本丸指物之間へ罷出候様可申聞旨ニ付其段次大夫へ申達候 一元文三午九月五日粕谷清次郎養父治大夫病気尓々不仕其上清次郎居宅間所も無之ニ付今庄辺ニ在宅仕度旨治大夫申聞候ニ付  差遣度旨口上書差出御家老中へ相達候処即刻相済 一延享二丑二月二日粕谷清次郎居宅失火類焼無之清次郎伺遠慮同廿四日ゟ御免 一寛延元辰五月廿一日粕谷清治郎親治大夫義立願之義御座候ニ付江州竹生嶋へ社参仕度旨申聞候間指遣度旨口上書指出御家老中へ相達候処願  之通可申付旨本多民部方被申聞 一天保二卯二月九日粕谷清次郎申聞候ハ妻義今朝出産候ニ付産穢月籠罷在候旨且又御城御宮鍵二ツ相■ニ付翌十日御用人へ相渡之候

現代語訳

ただし口上書で母のことを申し上げる際、やはり家老中へ申し上げると記載すること。その他の文章は通例の通りである。 一、明和二年酉四月二十五日、粕谷清次郎の娘を川地金五右衛門の後妻にという願いの通り仰せ付けられた。 一、享保四年亥六月十四日、出羽国置賜郡飛田村熊野権現の祠官今井左進および越中国婦負郡八幡宮の祠官富田石見守が当町に逗留し、主膳の門弟になりたいと申し遣わしてきたため、口上書を出して家老中へ相達した。 一、同年同月二十七日、主膳が願い出たのは、公料池田水海村八幡の祠官原修理大夫が吉田殿から十八神道の得許状を得たが、上京することが困難で、訳があって吉田二位殿から申し来たり、拙者の方から伝授するべきとのこと。しかし拙宅は手狭で数多くの神器を取り扱うのが困難なため、彼方へ五六日逗留して伝授したいという願いの通り仰せ付けられた。 一、享保十五年戌十二月二日、殿様が麻疹にかかられたため、御座所御裏御宮にて粕谷次大夫へ祈祷を仰せ付けられるところ、次大夫が不快のため勤めることができず、そのような場合の名代に誰を差し出すかと調べたところ、これまでこのような節に不快などの件はなく、代々億右衛門も御宮御用を三十年来勤めているがそのような事は覚えていないと申し達したため、神明神主牧田主水へ祈祷が仰せ付けられ、五日から十一日まで御裏御宮にて主水が祈祷を勤めた。御心断等の取り扱いがあった。 一、同年同月五日、今度の御貸札の件で、寺社の分は御貸しにならないが、粕谷次大夫については祖父以来先は神道者という者で一通りの神職とは違い、御裏御宮預かりで格別の品のため、外の寺社への障りはないだろうと御役人共が申し談じ、御貸しになることに決まった。 一、同十六年亥三月十八日、粕谷次大夫が申し聞かせたのは、今度の御発駕の節、御入部の節の通り私も御本丸へ出るべきかと伺ったため、その段を御奏者永見右門へ申し達したところ、前々の通り御本丸指物の間へ出るように申し聞かせるべきとのことで、その段を次大夫へ申し達した。 一、元文三年午九月五日、粕谷清次郎の養父治大夫が病気で具合が悪く、その上清次郎の居宅も間所がないため、今庄辺に在宅したいと治大夫が申し聞かせたため、差し遣わしたいという口上書を差し出し家老中へ相達したところ、即刻済んだ。 一、延享二年丑二月二日、粕谷清次郎の居宅が失火したが類焼はなし。清次郎は遠慮を伺い、同二十四日から御免となった。 一、寛延元年辰五月二十一日、粕谷清治郎の親治大夫に立願の義があるため、江州竹生島へ社参したいと申し聞かせたので、差し遣わしたいという口上書を指し出し家老中へ相達したところ、願いの通り申し付けるべきと本多民部方が申し聞かせた。 一、天保二年卯二月九日、粕谷清次郎が申し聞かせたのは、妻が今朝出産したため産穢で月籠もりしているということ、また御城御宮の鍵二つを相納したため、翌十日御用人へ相渡した。

However, when mentioning the mother in the petition (kōjōgaki), it should still be recorded as "reported to the senior councilors (karō-chū)." The rest of the text follows the usual precedent. 1. On the 25th day of the 4th month of Meiwa 2 (1765), Kasuya Seijirō's daughter was granted permission to become the second wife of Kawachi Kingorōemon as requested. 1. On the 14th day of the 6th month of Kyōhō 4 (1719), shrine priests Imai Sashin of Kumano Gongen shrine in Tobita village, Okitama district, Dewa province, and Tomita Iwami-no-kami of Hachiman shrine in Nei district, Etchū province, were staying in town and requested to become disciples of Shuzen. A petition was submitted and reported to the senior councilors. 1. On the 27th day of the same month and year, Shuzen petitioned that shrine priest Hara Shūri-dayū of Hachiman shrine in Kōryō Ikeda Mizumi village had received a license for the Jūhachi Shintō teachings from Lord Yoshida, but could not go to Kyoto due to circumstances. Lord Yoshida Nii had sent word that the transmission should be conducted from my place. However, my residence is cramped and it is difficult to handle many sacred implements, so I wish to stay at his place for five or six days to conduct the transmission. This request was granted as petitioned. 1. On the 2nd day of the 12th month of Kyōhō 15 (1730), when the lord contracted measles, prayers were to be ordered from Kasuya Jidayū at the rear shrine of the lord's quarters, but Jidayū was unwell and could not serve. When investigating who could serve as a substitute in such cases, it was found that there had been no such instances of illness before, and although Dai Okuemon had served the shrine duties for thirty years, he said he did not recall such matters. Therefore, prayers were ordered from Shinmei shrine priest Makita Mondo, who conducted prayers at the rear shrine from the 5th to the 11th day. There were arrangements for the lord's spiritual guidance. 1. On the 5th day of the same month and year, regarding the loan certificates (kashifuda), temples and shrines were not granted loans, but Kasuya Jidayū, being a Shinto practitioner since his grandfather's time and different from ordinary shrine priests, and being in charge of the rear shrine as a special case, would not interfere with other temples and shrines. The officials discussed this and decided to grant him the loan. 1. On the 18th day of the 3rd month of the 16th year (Kyōhō 16, 1731), Kasuya Jidayū inquired whether he should appear at the main castle during the lord's departure, as was done during the lord's arrival. When this was reported to chamberlain Nagami Uemon, he said that as before, he should appear at the Sashimono-no-ma of the main castle, and this was conveyed to Jidayū. 1. On the 5th day of the 9th month of Genbun 3 (1738), Kasuya Seijirō's adoptive father Jidayū was quite ill, and moreover, Seijirō's residence lacked space, so Jidayū requested to reside in the Imajō area. A petition to send him there was submitted and reported to the senior councilors, and it was immediately approved. 1. On the 2nd day of the 2nd month of Enkyō 2 (1745), Kasuya Seijirō's residence caught fire but there was no spread to neighboring buildings. Seijirō inquired about refraining from duties and was excused from the 24th of the same month. 1. On the 21st day of the 5th month of Kan'en 1 (1748), Kasuya Seijirō's father Jidayū had a matter requiring a vow, so he requested to make a pilgrimage to Chikubushima in Ōmi province. A petition to send him was submitted and reported to the senior councilors, and Honda Minbu conveyed that it should be granted as requested. 1. On the 9th day of the 2nd month of Tenpō 2 (1831), Kasuya Seijirō reported that his wife had given birth this morning and was in monthly confinement due to birth defilement (san'e). He also surrendered the two keys to the castle shrine, which were handed over to the chamberlain on the following 10th day.
