十六日御歩行目付十人御歩行並ハ唯今迄之通向後支配者横目中可仕旨被仰出候ニ付於評定所横目中御歩行頭へ狛杢允申渡之
一延宝四辰十二月御徒目付之事被仰出之
一御徒目付役吟味撰御徒目付共へ申付ル
八百里案スルニ諸役撰部ニハ御徒目付撰ハ御目付之由有之此本文ハ下撰之事歟
一享保五子年七月廿一日御徒目付近藤多助跡之儀令吟味書付可差出旨稲葉采女方被申聞候前々ハ
不差出候由申候得共書付可遣旨被申聞候ニ付同廿二日右書付采女方へ致持参候処前々此方迄書付不指
出候哉与弥被相尋候故終ニ差出不申誰被仰付与申儀相極り各様へ申上拙者共へ被仰渡旨
申達候処左候ハヽ今度も前々之如く可被致候江戸へ被申上間敷由被申聞候事留有之
一御徒目付申渡ハ月番御目付ゟ御徒頭へ手紙遣当人呼寄月番御目付宅ニ於而御用当番之
御徒目付指加申渡之於評定所ハ画図之間ニ而申渡之月番御徒目付壱人差添罷出ル
但御用番御家老中御徒目付誰被仰付候段月番同役へ被申渡候得ハ早速左之通手紙認立番
組之者へ申付為持遣ス
以手紙申達候《見せ消ち：然者｜》御徒赤尾又右衛門ー御切米三石被相増都合十八石三人ふちニ被成下御徒目付畑佐奥左衛門跡被仰付候也 儀御用之儀有之候間追付評定所《見せ消ち：迄｜江》可被差出候

十六日、御歩行目付十人と御歩行並は今まで通り、今後も支配者横目中が担当するよう申し付けられたので、評定所において横目中が御歩行頭の狛杢允に申し渡した。
一、延宝四年十二月、御徒目付の件について申し付けられた。
一、御徒目付役の選考吟味を御徒目付らに申し付ける。
八百里が考えるには、諸役の選考部門では御徒目付の選考は御目付が行うとのことであるが、この本文は下級の選考のことであろうか。
一、享保五年七月二十一日、御徒目付近藤多助の跡任の件について吟味し、書付を提出するよう稲葉采女方から申し伝えられた。以前は提出していなかったと申していたが、書付を送るよう申し伝えられたので、同二十二日に右書付を采女方へ持参したところ、以前はこちらまで書付を提出していなかったのかと重ねて尋ねられたため、最終的には提出せず、誰が任命されるかという件が決まり、各位に申し上げ、私どもに申し渡される旨を伝えたところ、それならば今回も以前のように行うべきで、江戸へ申し上げる必要はないと申し伝えられたという記録がある。
一、御徒目付への申し渡しは、月番御目付から御徒頭へ手紙を送り、当人を呼び寄せ、月番御目付宅において御用当番の御徒目付を同席させて申し渡す。評定所においては画図の間で申し渡し、月番御徒目付一人が付き添って出席する。
ただし、御用番御家老中が御徒目付の誰を任命するかを月番同役へ申し渡されれば、早速左の通り手紙を認め、番組の者に申し付けて持参させる。
手紙をもって申し上げます。御徒赤尾又右衛門には御切米三石を増加し、合計十八石三人扶持を下され、御徒目付畑佐奥左衛門跡を申し付けられた件について、御用の儀があるので、追って評定所へ出席するよう申し付けます。

一、右のように申し付けられた後、再び御徒頭へ手紙を送り、本日誰それが御徒目付の誰それの跡を申し付けられたので、心得として申し伝える旨を送ったこと。

Various Matters Concerning Ashigaru Inspectors (Okachi Metsuke)
On the 16th, it was ordered that the ten foot patrol inspectors (oaruki metsuke) and foot patrol assistants (oaruki nami) should continue to be supervised by the lateral inspectors (yokome) as before. This was communicated by the yokome to the head of foot patrols, Koma Mokunosuke, at the Council of State (hyōjōsho).
1. In the twelfth month of Enpō 4 (1676), orders were issued regarding ashigaru inspectors.

Happyakuri considers that in the selection departments for various positions, the selection of ashigaru inspectors is conducted by the regular inspectors (metsuke), but this text may refer to lower-level selections.
1. On the 21st day of the 7th month of Kyōhō 5 (1720), regarding the succession to ashigaru inspector Kondō Tasuke's position, we were instructed by Inaba Uneme's office to conduct an examination and submit a written report. Although it was said that such reports had not been submitted previously, we were told to send the document. On the 22nd, when we brought the document to Uneme's office, we were asked again whether we had not submitted documents to them before. In the end, we did not submit it, and it was decided who would be appointed. When we reported this to our superiors and were told what orders would be given to us, we were informed that in that case, this time too should be handled as before, and there was no need to report to Edo. 1. Appointments of ashigaru inspectors are handled as follows: the monthly duty inspector (tsukiban metsuke) sends a letter to the head of ashigaru, summons the appointee, and makes the announcement at the monthly duty inspector's residence with the duty ashigaru inspector present. At the Council of State, announcements are made in the map room, with one monthly duty ashigaru inspector in attendance.
However, when the duty senior councilor appoints an ashigaru inspector, this is communicated to the monthly duty colleague, who immediately writes a letter as follows and has it delivered by a member of the guard unit.
I communicate by letter. Ashigaru Akao Mataemon has been granted an increase of 3 koku of stipend rice, making a total of 18 koku and rations for 3 men, and has been appointed to succeed ashigaru inspector Hatasa Okuuzaemon. As there are official matters to attend to, he should appear at the Council of State in due course.
