現代語訳

## 浅間山焼出記

古来より、丙午・丁未の年には必ず災いが起こるといわれている。また「百陽九」という考え方があり、百年に及べば必ず災いがあるとも言われている。しかしながら、百年に満たず、五十年・六十年で災いが及ぶとも言い伝えられている。

「丙午・丁未の年に災いあり」ということについて、『吹剣録』にはこう記されている。「丙午・丁未の年に、中国がこれに遭えば必ず災いが起こる。近衢の士は丙午・丁未を亀鑑（手本・戒め）とせよ。泰（秦）の昭襄王五十二年から五代に至るまで、凡そ二十二度、某年に静まらぬことがあったと、文豹は考えている。丙午・丁未は天の中央に位置し、丙・丁は火に属し、いずれも午の位にある」云々。

『吹剣録』は、宋の兪文豹の随筆である。

## Record of the Eruption of Mt. Asama

Since ancient times, it has been said that the years of Hinoe-Uma (丙午) and Hinoto-Hitsuji (丁未) in the sexagenary cycle invariably bring disasters. There is also the concept of "Hyakuyōkyū" (百陽九), which holds that after every hundred years, disaster will certainly occur. However, it is also said by tradition that such disasters can strike before a full hundred years, within fifty or sixty years.

Regarding the saying that "disasters occur in the years of Hinoe-Uma and Hinoto-Hitsuji," the *Suikenroku* states: "When China encounters the years of Hinoe-Uma and Hinoto-Hitsuji, disaster will certainly occur. Those of rank along the main roads should take Hinoe-Uma and Hinoto-Hitsuji as a mirror and warning. From the fifty-second year of King Zhaoxiang of Qin through the Five Dynasties, there were approximately twenty-two instances of unrest in certain years—so thinks Wenbao. Hinoe-Uma and Hinoto-Hitsuji are positioned at the center of heaven; Hei (丙) and Tei (丁) belong to the element of Fire and are both situated at the position of 'Uma' (午)." And so forth.

The *Suikenroku* (吹剣録) is a collection of essays by Yu Wenbao (兪文豹) of the Song dynasty.
