His fame is so great in the renowned capital of Edo that he descends in an unbroken line from Saigyu, the founder of the Ichikawa stage name, as the great-great-grandson of the sixth generation - supremely skilled and unrivaled as the head of the acting arts, a rare talent in this profession. The fifth Ichikawa Ebizo, whose other name was Hakuen.
