現代語訳
虹が東西に架け渡され、太夫ヶ岸、門格子の峰なる後ろの桟道を伝って、麓に下れば、鶉が鳴くという内簾の岡新格子の左右より、花道の橋掛かりに出て、はるかに見る龍耳山は雲に蟠っているかのようである。この山は往古神代の頃、新狂言を少しここで見の尊が、諸事万事をケチな風に吹き鎮めた処として、一日に二百の末社を勧請し奉る。ひとたび山上へ登ろうとする者は必ず神道の教えを守って、目にもろもろの狂言を見て、耳にもろもろの台詞を聞かず、鼻にもろもろの献立を嗅ぎ知って、心に銭を費やすことを思わないということである。絶頂の太鼓楼には、狂言尽くしの文字が現然と現れる。これはわが国山城の大の字火に似ている。山の中腹に一つの池があり、池水を少し乾かして見る時は、先の主が忽然と出現して、終には引き出される恐ろしいことである。これより中の間川へ流れ落ちるに、上り下りの引船の賑わい、商人が

A rainbow stretches from east to west, and following the mountain path behind the peaks of Dayū-ga-kishi and Mongōshi, one descends to the foot of the mountain. From both sides of the Okashin lattice of Uchimisu where quail cry, one emerges onto the bridge approach of the hanamichi (runway), and views the distant Mount Ryūjisen coiled like clouds. This mountain, in ancient times during the age of the gods, was where Miko-no-mikoto watched new kyōgen plays a little, and as a place where all affairs were suppressed by a stingy wind, 200 subsidiary shrines are solicited daily. Anyone who would climb to the mountaintop must observe the teachings of Shinto: seeing various kyōgen with their eyes, not hearing various lines with their ears, detecting various menus with their noses, and not thinking of spending money in their hearts. At the drum tower on the summit, characters spelling out complete kyōgen appear clearly. This resembles the giant character fire of Yamashiro in our country.
