四日庚寅晴家内小児之軍人形祭事如例但幌ハ無之○今年家
翁予等両人共雖軽服中今日午後屋根へ葺艾菖蒲事如例了
但此義水左記承保四五四喪家過五旬後葺菖蒲云々〇入夜戌刻
斗五番衆五日乗尻三番左陣助大夫保生嫡男四才死去疱瘡云々
依之即刻同手組之内越前守氏清為其闕代席其侭加三番
左補勤之尤参宮祓以後ニ付如先例不及小中指事
五日辛卯晴端午佳節競馬會諸事如例倭文庄之馬幷警固
等足汰同断之事○今度越中介直兄母堂取次ニ而近衛維学
心院御方より《割書:尾張殿|御息女》鉾之吹散悉新調御奉納有之四月葵御祭
前義来也以前者赤地大和錦之処今度紺地純子紋葵金糸紐

番の番より略小振りで、いかにも違例である。なお尋ねるべきことである。
四日庚寅晴れ。家内の小児の軍人形祭りのことは例のごとく。ただし幌はなし。○今年は家翁と予等両人とも軽服中であるが、今日午後屋根へ艾菖蒲を葺くことは例のごとく了えた。ただしこの件について水左記承保四年に「喪家は五旬後に菖蒲を葺く」とある。○入夜戌の刻頃、五番衆五日乗尻三番左陣助大夫保生の嫡男四歳が疱瘡で死去したという。これにより即刻同手組の内の越前守氏清がその欠員の代席としてそのまま三番左に加わり補勤した。もっとも参宮祓以後につき、先例のごとく小中指のことに及ばず。
五日辛卯晴れ。端午佳節競馬会、諸事例のごとく。倭文庄の馬並びに警固等、足汰と同断のこと。○今度越中介直兄の母堂の取次により、近衛維学心院御方より《割書:尾張殿の御息女》鉾の吹散をすべて新調して御奉納があり、四月葵御祭前のことである。以前は赤地大和錦であったが、今度は紺地純子紋葵金糸紐紅である。
八日甲午晴れ。故経岡県主の五七日である。巳の刻、母と経千等が同道して墓参させた。○御家門が岡崎村御別荘へ御成りがあり、予は御留守である。
十五日辛丑晴れ。今宮祭である。○御家門より二尊院へ御代参を相勤め、井関方へ安否見舞いのため立ち寄ったこと。○故経岡県主の六七日、申前刻に母と経手が同道して墓参したこと。
二十二日戊申晴れ。故経岡県主の盡七日である。巳の刻、母と同道して墓参させたこと。○当家の寺庵水心庵が近年破損した由につき、正房庵付添の両僧が入来して勧化があった。よって白銀一分三匁二分五厘を寄進し了えた。
二十三日己酉晴れ。故経岡県主の今日五旬限りにつき、大津より保歳が上京して墓参があり、門前まで入来した。故経岡県主の遺物として、家翁へ金二百疋、経千へ金百疋、母へ両鐐一片、保子へ両鐐一片等を送られ了えた。
二十五日辛亥晴れ。早朝より大津の保歳方へ参り、故経岡翁卒去後の安否

4th day, kanoe-tora, clear. The household children's warrior doll festival proceeded as usual, though without the canopy. ○ This year, both the family elder and I are in light mourning, but this afternoon we placed mugwort and iris on the roof as customary. However, regarding this matter, the Mizusaki record from Jōhō 4 states that "mourning households place iris after fifty days." ○ In the evening around the hour of the dog, the four-year-old eldest son of Gō-ban-shū five-day palanquin bearer Third Left Jin-no-suke Taifu Yasuo died of smallpox. Consequently, Echizen-no-kami Ujikyō from the same group immediately took his place and joined Third Left as a substitute. However, since this was after the shrine purification, there was no need for the small and middle finger ceremony as per precedent.
5th day, kanoto-u, clear. The Tango Festival horse racing meeting proceeded in all matters as usual. The horses from Shidori-no-shō and guards were handled the same as the foot cleansing ceremony. ○ This time, through the intermediary of Etchū-no-suke Naoe's mother, Lady Konoe Isaku Shinin (marginal note: daughter of Lord Owari) donated newly crafted spear tassels for the April Aoi Festival. Previously they were red ground Yamato brocade, but this time they were navy ground silk with crest designs, golden cords, and crimson.
8th day, kinoe-uma, clear. The fifth seven-day memorial for the late County Head Tsunaoka. At the hour of the snake, mother, Tsunachi and others accompanied the grave visit. ○ The family gate went to the villa at Okazaki village, and I remained to watch the house.
15th day, kanoto-ushi, clear. The Imamiya Festival. ○ I performed proxy worship at Nison-in on behalf of the family gate and stopped by the Iseki residence to inquire after their well-being. ○ For the sixth seven-day memorial of the late County Head Tsunaoka, before the hour of the monkey, mother and Tsunate accompanied the grave visit.
22nd day, tsuchinoe-saru, clear. The final seven-day memorial for the late County Head Tsunaoka. At the hour of the snake, I accompanied mother to the grave visit. ○ Regarding our family temple hermitage Suishin-an, which has been damaged in recent years, two monks including one from Seibō-an came to solicit donations. Therefore, I donated one bu three monme two bu five rin of silver.
23rd day, tsuchi-no-to-tori, clear. Today marks the fiftieth day limit for the late County Head Tsunaoka, so Yasutoshi came up from Ōtsu for a grave visit and came to our gate. As mementos of the late County Head Tsunaoka, he sent 200 hiki in gold to the family elder, 100 hiki in gold to Tsunachi, one piece of silver to mother, one piece of silver to Yasuko, and so forth.
25th day, kanoto-i, clear. From early morning went to Yasutoshi's place in Ōtsu to inquire about well-being since the late Tsunaoka elder's death.
