見舞いかつ遺物を送られたことへの挨拶のためである。入夜に帰郷した。

六日壬戌晴れ。暑中見舞いのため京都を回って勤めたこと。

十二日戊辰晴れ。明十三日は近藤故求馬勝の祥忌日につき、今日墓参をさせた。ただし当年は二十五回忌である。これにより今明日、御家門中通りへの志として白豆腐四丁ずつ出したこと。
十三日己巳晴れ。在所中へ暑中見舞いのため回って勤めたこと。
十六日壬申晴れ。嘉祥の御祝儀につき、御家門一統へ御盃や御菓子等を下されたこと。前年と同じ。ただし辰半刻に出仕し、三半刻に相済んだ。
二十九日乙酉晴れ。故経岡県主の石碑が出来上がり建立につき、巳の刻頃、母と同道して墓参をさせたこと。
七月大
朔日【見せ消し：丙】甲戌雨。御戸代会の猿楽、例年のごとく相済んだ。○この頃伝承によると、伏見宮諸大夫三木が今度辞官して位記を返上し、山城国中御追放かつ江戸御構え、並びに同諸大夫津田・田中、同六位侍泉原等も同じく辞官して位記を返上し、以来官家に初めて仕える候補者を指出すよう、今度武家奉行所で仰せ渡されたこと。希代のことである。
五日【見せ消し：辛】庚寅晴れ。家父・経千等が今朝除服した。よって早朝に浴水し、門に注連を張り、家内神祭を終えた。
七日【見せ消し：癸】壬辰雨。七夕御神事の転供、五番衆経十が参勤巡番である。ただし御家門が明番により、兼日から逞清方へ名代のことを相頼んだ。○家父の除服後、今朝参社させた。○御家門若御所へ当日御参りの御廻りがあった。

Sixth Month (small)
4th day, kanoe-saru, cloudy. Went out on business at the second quarter of the hour of the boar.
6th day, mizunoe-inu, clear. Made rounds in Kyoto for summer sympathy visits.
9th day, kinoto-ushi, clear. Made rounds in Kyoto for summer sympathy visits.
12th day, tsuchinoe-tatsu, clear. Tomorrow the 13th is the memorial day for the late Kondō Kyūma Katsu, so today I had a grave visit performed. This year marks the twenty-fifth memorial. Therefore, today and tomorrow, I sent four pieces of white tofu each to the main street of the family gate as an offering.
13th day, tsuchi-no-to-mi, clear. Made rounds to various localities for summer sympathy visits.
16th day, mizunoe-saru, clear. For the Kashō celebration, sake cups and sweets were bestowed upon all members of the family gate, the same as in previous years. However, I began service at the half-quarter of the hour of the dragon and finished at the half-quarter of three.
29th day, kinoto-tori, clear. The stone monument for the late County Head Tsunaoka was completed and erected, so around the hour of the snake, I accompanied mother for a grave visit.
Seventh Month (large)
1st day [crossed out: hinoe] kinoe-inu, rain. The sarugaku performance for the door substitution meeting was completed as in previous years. ○ Around this time, it was reported that the Fushimi-no-miya retainer Miki resigned from office and returned his court rank certificate, was banished from Yamashiro Province and barred from Edo. Similarly, fellow retainers Tsuda and Tanaka, and the sixth-rank attendant Izuhara and others also resigned and returned their rank certificates. From now on, it was decreed at the military magistrate's office that candidates for initial service to the court should be nominated. This is an unprecedented matter.
5th day [crossed out: kanoto] kanoe-tora, clear. My father and Tsunachi completed their mourning period this morning. Therefore, we performed ritual bathing at dawn, hung sacred ropes at the gate, and completed household deity worship.
7th day [crossed out: mizunoto] mizunoe-tatsu, rain. For the Tanabata ritual offerings, five-group member Tsunejū is on duty rotation. However, since the family gate was off duty, I had previously requested Teikiyo to serve as proxy. ○ After my father's mourning period ended, he made a shrine visit this morning. ○ The family gate made the scheduled visit and rounds to the young imperial residence that day.
