上下同人亭行向辰上刻御成有之少時而シゲリ鳥場へ被
為成鳥御覧之後於胡保方御中飯相済御社参有之胡保
御案内被申也次経千亭へ御立寄被為在御肴《割書：鱧一喉｜》饅頭
卅等被下之尤初而御成也家父所労保子産穢中等ニ付母
已下小児等御對面被仰付茶菓《割書：羊羹｜》小鳥《割書：卅羽ツヽ｜二行目》柿等
献之暫時有而又胡保方へ被為成小児健若叔十代三雄太郎
等被召連夫々御手遊被下也御酒夕御膳方ニ而酉上刻還御也
○経千病気先快復ニ付 御家門可出勤之處此比家父不快

当社巡見の義は取り止めとなった云々。ただし下社は其の義がなく巡見したことを御請け申し上げる云々。如何なものか。
二十一日乙巳雨。御家門前殿下が今日仙洞御所より古今御伝授を受けられるため、正卯の刻より出勤。大御所は巳の刻に御院参、御板輿で朱塗唐櫃胡保が付き添い参上、未半の刻に還御、申半の刻に更に御所々々への御礼の御参、御供方は平常の如し。若御所は午前の刻頃に御礼のため御院参、即刻還御である。宗匠家の堂上並びに禁裏御役人衆、且つ和歌の御門弟の大臣方以下が御出になり、御祝酒が進められた。経千は終日取次役を勤め、亥の刻頃退出した。
二十三日丁未晴。御老中水野出羽守殿の当社御巡見の件、軽服中につき控えていたところ、除服により今日下社より深泥池・貴船・鞍馬の次に当社等を御巡見云々。○今日経千は社頭当番である。逞清の代勤を相頼んだ。
○今日御家門若御所並びに久我少将殿《割書：実は若御所の御舎弟なり》等御同道にて当社御社参があり、胡保亭へ御成りである。これにより経千は早朝より着麻上下で同人の亭に向かい、辰上の刻に御成りがあり、少時してシゲリ鳥場へ成られ、鳥御覧の後、胡保方にて御中飯を済ませ、御社参があり、胡保が御案内申した。次に経千亭へ御立ち寄りになり、御肴《割書：鱧一喉》饅頭三十等を下された。もっとも初めての御成りである。家父所労、保子産穢中等につき、母以下小児等への御対面が仰せ付けられ、茶菓《割書：羊羹》小鳥《割書：三十羽ずつ二行目》柿等を献じた。暫時あって又胡保方へ成られ、小児健若叔十代三雄太郎等を召し連れ、それぞれ御手遊を下された。御酒夕御膳方にて酉上の刻に還御である。

Since His Excellency of the Imperial Family was to receive imperial instruction on classical poetry (Kokin) from the Sentō Imperial Palace today, he began work from the hour of the rabbit (6 AM). His Majesty the Retired Emperor made an imperial visit at the hour of the snake (10 AM), traveling by imperial palanquin with lacquered Chinese chest and Koho in attendance. He returned at half past the hour of the sheep (2:30 PM), and at half past the hour of the monkey (4:30 PM) made another visit to various palaces for courtesy calls, with the usual retinue. He requested Teisei to serve as substitute.
○ Today the Young Lord of the Imperial Family and Lord Kuga Shōshō (actually the younger brother of the Young Lord) visited our shrine together, going to Koho's pavilion. Accordingly, Tsunachi went to his residence in formal hemp dress from early morning. The visit occurred at the early hour of the dragon (8 AM), and after a short while they went to the Shigeri bird hunting grounds. After viewing the birds, they had lunch at Koho's place, then made the shrine visit with Koho as guide. Next they stopped at Tsunachi's residence, where they were presented with delicacies (one throat of sea eel), thirty steamed buns, etc. This was notably the first such visit. Due to my father's illness and Yasuko's ritual impurity from childbirth, an audience was granted to mother and the children, to whom tea sweets (sweet bean jelly), small birds (thirty each, second row), persimmons, etc. were offered.
