という理由である。家父が使いの者に出会い、返答として申し遣わした趣旨を承知した。ただ今両人とも留守中であるので、なおその段を申し聞かせる由を申して帰された。この義について経千は奇異に思い、所司代勤め方の記三通りほども吟味したところ、いずれの記にも見当たらなかった。そこでまた一両輩に聞き合わせたところ、その義に及ばないという趣であった。そこで今日中大路橋で分かれて帰ったところに右の使いが来たため、即刻経招方へ参り右の次第を申し聞かせ示談に及んだところ、多分門前まで相従うものなので、参る分に心得てくれるよう入魂するのがよいという由であった。そこで直様神主邸へ参った《割書：次上下着用》。奥へ通され信平卿が出会った上で、右一義は当方勤め方の記に見当たらず、そこで数両輩に聞き合わせたところ、その義に及ばないという噂であったため、御門前まで相従わずに済ませたところ、ただ今御使いを遣わされたので、なお又老人共へ相尋ねしたところ、やはり近例多分相従う趣であるので、今日も相従う分に御心得いただきたい段を申し述べたところ、速やかに承知され、強いて申し入れる義ではないが、一通り御尋ね申し入れるまでのことである由であった。そこでもう一段吟味しなかったことは何分心得違いで杜撰の至りと相断り罷り帰った。
