田屋での初会が催されることになり、辰の半刻ほど三本松へ行き向かい、滞りなく済ませて子の前刻に帰郷した。この頃は右の御講のため多分に日勤である。
十二日壬戌晴れ、午後雷鳴小雨。御家門の今日は御講勘定である。諸払い一万三貫目余りを引いて、残り九貫八百九十歩余りの御銀を大阪鉄屋庄左衛門手代へ手形にて相渡した。
十六日丙寅晴れ。今暁寅刻に土用入りである。
二十五日丙亥晴れ。昨日より暑邪のため当たって平臥している。よって今日は御家門の御番に参らず、御断り申し上げた。
二十八日己寅晴れ。当年五月上旬已来雨が降らず、近年の旱魃で川水が渇き田地も追々干枯している。これにより先月以来御祈祷が仰せ出される等があったが、それでも雨が降らない。これにつき今日は社中で雨乞いである。予は所労中のため参らず、次男叔千代が初めて罷り出た。
七月小
朔日辛巳時々雨降る。一昨日より三日の間の猿楽が例年のごとく相済んだ。
四日甲申晴れ。今日は立秋である。
七日丁亥晴れ。七夕御神事。前貴布称祝が闕職につき、代官役の必顕が参勤した。○御家門総詰である。若御所への御参がある。
八日戊子晴れ。暁天、母・慎子・経千等が例年のごとく亀四郎を召し連れて墓参をした。
九日己丑晴れ。御家門より例年のごとく御切符が下され、相場七十五匁。経千分は当季より半季分三石二升代銀二百四十三匁七分五厘全てを頂戴した。
十日庚寅晴れ。御家門奥表の御附け届けを今日御取扱いした。
十三日癸巳晴れ。当季払い高五百七十四匁一分七厘六毛である。
十四日甲午今暁より辰刻に至るまで剛雨が降り、河水が少々増した。五月已来の雨である。

The inaugural meeting at Taaya was arranged, so around half past the Hour of the Dragon I went to Sanbon-matsu, completed the business without incident, and returned home before the Hour of the Rat. These days I am frequently on daily duty due to this lecture meeting.
12th day, Mizuno-e-Inu, clear, thunder and light rain in the afternoon. Today is the accounting day for the domain's lecture meeting. After deducting various payments of over 13,000 kanme, the remaining 9,890-odd bu of silver was handed over to the agent of Tetsuya Shōzaemon in Osaka by promissory note.
16th day, Hinoe-Tora, clear. This dawn at the Hour of the Tiger was the beginning of the summer earth period (doyō).
25th day, Hinoe-I, clear. Since yesterday I have been lying down due to summer heat illness. Therefore today I did not attend domain guard duty and sent my apologies.
28th day, Tsuchi-no-to-Tora, clear. Since early May of this year no rain has fallen, and due to the severe drought of recent years, river water has dried up and rice fields are gradually withering. Due to this, prayer rituals have been ordered since last month, but still no rain falls. Regarding this, today the shrine community is conducting rain-begging rituals. I did not attend due to illness, and my second son Oji Chiyo went out for the first time.
7th Month, Short Month
1st day, Kanoto-Mi, occasional rain. The three-day Sarugaku performance that began the day before yesterday concluded as in previous years.
4th day, Kinoe-Saru, clear. Today is the beginning of autumn (Risshū).
7th day, Hinoto-I, clear. Tanabata shrine ritual. Since the former Kifushō priest position is vacant, Deputy Official Hisaki attended. ○Full attendance at the domain. There was a visit to the Young Prince's Palace.
8th day, Tsuchi-no-e-Ne, clear. At dawn, mother, Shinko, Kyōsen and others took Kameshirō with them for the annual grave visit.
9th day, Tsuchi-no-to-Ushi, clear. The domain issued the usual seasonal certificates, market rate 75 monme. Kyōsen's portion from this season: half-season portion of 3 koku 2 shō, equivalent to 243 monme 7 bu 5 rin in silver, all received.
10th day, Kanoe-Tora, clear. Today handled the domain's inner and outer attendance notifications.
13th day, Mizuno-to-Mi, clear. This season's payment total is 574 monme 1 bu 7 rin 6 mō.
14th day, Kinoe-Uma, heavy rain fell from this dawn until the Hour of the Dragon, and river water rose slightly. This is the first rain since May.
