朔日丙午晴京都へ令董賦如例也○御更祭如例歳也
三日戊申雨細川越中守殿今日初而御家門へ御入未上刻斗 両御所
於御座間御對面御盃御往来有之鯛鰭松之真次ニ粽被進
向付有之次ニ奥向より別段蒸菓子《割書：杦木地之｜硯蓋ニ盛》被進御供方平士以上
へ御祝酒被下蛤吸物二ツ物次赤飯向付アリ少時而御退出也但今日
越中守殿御入ニ付先規銀五両被下之頂戴了
四日己酉晴曇當年棚所別當ニ付今日御祭加下行八木壱斗御蔵
年番中より被相渡令落手了○午後家翁御家門へ参上但
経千昨年御役被仰付後未参殿無之ニ付御禮且久々ニ而為窺也

四月大
朔日丙午晴 京都へ董賦を納めること例年の通りである。○御更祭は例年の通りである。
三日戊申雨 細川越中守殿が今日初めて御家門へお入りになった。未の上刻ほどに両御所が御座間において御対面され、御盃の御往来があった。鯛鰭松の真の次に粽が進められ、向付があった。次に奥向より別段蒸菓子《杉木地の硯蓋に盛って》が進められた。御供方平士以上へ御祝酒が下され、蛤の吸物、二つ物の次に赤飯、向付があった。しばらくして御退出された。ただし今日越中守殿の御入りにつき、先例により銀五両が下され、これを頂戴した。
四日己酉晴曇 当年棚所別当につき、今日御祭の加下行として八木一斗を御蔵年番中より渡され、受け取った。○午後、家翁が御家門へ参上した。ただし経千は昨年御役を仰せ付けられた後、未だ参殿していないため、御礼かつ久々に伺うためである。すなわち交肴一折《海老五つ、生貝二つ》を献上した。次に難波・佐々木・川瀬等の宅へこの挨拶を兼ねて赴き、各々に菓子一袋ずつを送った。その他縁家の施薬院・瀬尾・堀川等へ参り、夕刻帰宅した。
五日庚戌雨 朝飯後、家子中が例年通り竹切の参会を行った。当年倹約中につき飯はなし。棚所別当は竹原庄馬が務めるとのこと。この棚所の馬下行米とも逞清に任せ置いた。
七日壬子雨 今日両伝奏・院伝奏が御上京されたとのこと。
八日癸丑薄晴 関東へ御参向の諸役・堂上方各々が今日御上京されたとのこと。○中飯後、御祭の走馬足見を例の通り済ませた。○御家門関東御使の難波伊予守が今日上京した。関東相国の宣下御式は当月十八日に御滞りなく済むとのこと。
十一日丙辰晴 当年棚所につき、調進奉行中より回章が到来した。御祭召具を渡すので、来る十四日午刻より申刻までの間に評議所へ出向いて受け取るべき旨である。加えて御厩別当直一へも回した。

Fourth Month, Major
1st day, Hinoe-Uma, clear - Tribute was sent to Kyoto as usual. ○ The Sacred Renewal Festival was held as usual.
3rd day, Tsuchinoe-Saru, rain - Lord Hosokawa Etchū-no-kami entered the house for the first time today. Around the first quarter of the Hour of the Sheep, both lords had an audience in the formal sitting room, with an exchange of sake cups. After sea bream fin and pine presentation, rice dumplings were served with side dishes. Next, special steamed sweets were served from the inner quarters in containers made of cedar wood shaped like inkstone lids. Celebratory sake was given to attendants of samurai rank and above, with clam soup, two dishes followed by red rice and side dishes. After a short while, they withdrew. However, for Lord Etchū-no-kami's entry today, five ryō of silver were bestowed according to precedent, which was received.
4th day, Tsuchinoto-Tori, clear and cloudy - As this year's warehouse administrator, today one to of yagi grain was received from the annual warehouse staff as additional stipend for the festival. ○ In the afternoon, the family elder went to pay respects at the house. However, since Keisen had not visited since being appointed to office last year, this was both for formal thanks and a long-overdue courtesy call. A box of mixed delicacies was presented (five prawns, two fresh shellfish). Then visits were made to the residences of Namba, Sasaki, Kawase and others for similar greetings, sending one bag of sweets to each. Other visits were made to related families at Seyakuin, Seo, Horikawa and others, returning home at evening.
5th day, Kanoe-Inu, rain - After morning meal, the household retainers held their annual bamboo-cutting assembly as usual. Due to this year's economy measures, no meal was provided. Takehara Shōma serves as warehouse administrator. Both the horses and additional rice for this warehouse position were entrusted to Teisen.
7th day, Mizunoe-Ne, rain - Today both imperial messengers and court messengers came up to the capital.
8th day, Mizunoto-Ushi, lightly clear - Various officials and court nobles going to pay respects in Kantō all came up to the capital today. ○ After midday meal, the festival horse racing inspection was completed as usual. ○ Namba Iyo-no-kami, the house's messenger to Kantō, came up to the capital today. The ceremony for the Kantō Chancellor's appointment will be completed on the 18th of this month without delay.
11th day, Hinoe-Tatsu, clear - Regarding this year's warehouse duties, a circular notice arrived from the ritual preparation officials. Festival implements are to be distributed, so one should go to the council chamber between the Hours of the Horse and Monkey on the coming 14th day to receive them. This was also forwarded to stable administrator Naoichi.
