【漢文部分】
謀計は眼前の利潤のためになすといえども、必ず神明の罰に当たるべし。
正直は一旦は依怙（えこひいき）にあらずといえども、終には日月の憐れみを蒙るものなり。

憎むとぞ

英語訳

**Classical Chinese passage (kanbun):**
Though one may scheme and plot for immediate profit and gain, one shall inevitably incur the punishment of the gods and divine spirits.
Though honesty may not always appear to bring immediate favor, in the end it shall receive the compassion of the sun and moon (i.e., the benevolence of Heaven).

**Japanese verse:**
Gods and Buddhas alike,
I am told,
despise it —

Falsehood and deceit
are a person's greatest
flaw and blemish.
