【漢文部分】
謀りごとは、たとえ目先の利益をもたらすものであっても、必ず神明の罰を受けることとなる。正直は、たとえ一時的な依怙（えこひいき）とはならなくとも、終には日月の憐れみを蒙るものである。

【和文部分】
神も仏も
憎むとぞ聞く——
いつわりは
人の第一の
疵（きず）なれや

英語訳

[Classical Chinese section]
Schemes and stratagems, even when they bring immediate profit and gain, will surely invite divine punishment. Honesty, even when it does not yield immediate favor or preferential treatment, will in the end receive the compassion of the sun and moon (i.e., heaven's blessing).

[Japanese verse section]
Both gods and buddhas
detest it, so I have heard—
falsehood and deceit
are, above all else, a person's
greatest flaw and blemish.
