しかれば馬遠郭熙が山水ものぞきからくりの
三景にをとり千枝つねのりが源氏絵も 吾妻

世智がしこきをしり古の人のうす鈍なるを思ふ

偽ることができないものが目の前に現れ、意表を突いて浮かび上がる。
このように、馬遠や郭熙の山水画も覗きからくりの三景に劣り、千枝常矩の源氏絵も吾妻錦の紅絵に閉口してしまった。見る者は今の世の人の世智に長けていることを知り、古の人の素朴さを思うべきである。
