差上申一札之事
一 当村石切之儀村中不残取調書上仕
候処此外壱人茂無御座候尤石切稼ニ罷
出旅先ニ而石切之弟子等召抱不申候
尚又旅先実躰ニ相廻り可申候様具ニ
申聞候処一々承知仕奉得其意候者
此上ニ茂不吟味成義有之後日御聞
被成候ハヽ其御元ゟ早速御注進可被成候
其上如何様之御咎メ被仰付候共少茂
御恨無御座候為後日連印証文依而如件

現代語訳
差し上げ申し上げる一札の件
一、当村の石切の件について、村中残らず取り調べて書き上げいたしましたところ、この他に一人もございません。もっとも石切稼ぎに出かけて旅先で石切の弟子等を抱えることはいたしません。なお又、旅先では実態に応じて回り申すよう詳しく申し聞かせましたところ、一々承知いたし、その意を得ております。この上にも不審な事柄があって後日お聞きになられましたら、そのお元から早速ご注進くださいますよう、その上でいかなるお咎めを仰せ付けられましても少しも恨みはございません。後日のため連印証文により、以上の通りです。

Regarding the written pledge we respectfully submit:
Item: Concerning the stone cutters of our village, we have investigated thoroughly throughout the entire village and submitted our report. There is not a single other person beyond those already reported. Moreover, when they go out to work as stone cutters, they do not take on stone cutting apprentices at their destinations. Furthermore, we have instructed them in detail to conduct themselves properly according to actual conditions at their destinations, and they have acknowledged and understood these instructions completely. Should there be any questionable matters in the future that come to your attention, please immediately report from your location. Whatever punishment may be imposed upon us, we harbor no resentment whatsoever. This joint seal document serves as proof for future reference. The above is respectfully submitted.
