見たいと思って音に聞いて愛でて惑った。その辺りの垣根にも家の戸にも居る人でさえ容易に見ることのできないものを、夜は安らかに寝ることもできず、闇夜にもあちこちから覗き見して、見ようとして互いに競い合った。その時から「夜這い」と言うようになった。人が相手にもしないところに群がっていたけれども、何の効果もあるはずがなく見えなかった。家の人々に物を言おうとして話しかけても、全く相手にされず、その場を離れない君たちは夜を明かし日を暮らす人が多くいた。愚かな人は無駄な徘徊は良くないことだと言って、来なくなった。その中で
