現代語訳

松代城下町は潰家二分通り（埴科郡）

川が干上がって川原となった。
川下の村は水害に遭う可能性があると恐れ、山へ上ったり他所へ逃げ去った。この辺りは地盤が弱く、まずは上田へ。

死者五百人弱

長井村と平林村の間で、森が八丁程の範囲にわたって、高さ八九十間程の山が半分から割れて犀川に崩落し、人家や木立がそのまま残っている状態で、川上に湖水ができた。

幅五六町または十四五町の所もある。

この辺りの村々十五ヶ村が水底となり、家屋が流された。

長井から六七里という。

The river dried up and became a riverbed. The downstream villages, fearing they would be hit by floods, fled to the mountains or escaped to other places. This area has weak ground, so they first headed to Ueda.

Between Nagai and Hirabayashi villages, across a forested area of about 8 chō, a mountain about 80-90 ken high split in half and collapsed into the Sai River, with houses and trees remaining as they were, forming a lake upstream.

The width varies from 5-6 chō to 14-15 chō in some places.

Fifteen villages in this area were submerged underwater, and their houses were washed away.

It is said to be 6-7 ri from Nagai.
