《詩韻珠璣　琴台先生校　全部八冊・薄葉本全二冊》
この書は清朝の余照春亭が編集したものである。『佩文韻府』を原本とし、その脱漏した箇所は他書をもって補い、字書・韻書はもちろん、『事文類聚』『芸文類聚』から『淵鑑類函』『格致鏡原』等の類書までの典拠や故事を記し、かつ韻の基礎の次に韻字を最初に置く。たとえば一東の韻に「城東」「舎東」「桃園東」などと、通例の韻の基礎の次にその「東」の字を最初の字にして、あるいは「東山」「東海」「東方朔」等の類で、五字・七字に至るまで、このように韻字を上下に分け、検索の迅速さを要旨とする。収載するところ経史子集すべて備わらぬことなし。韻の基礎を捜し、熟語や故事を求めるのに自在であって、韻書の早引きである。先に『韻府一隅』を出版したところ、四方の君子これを宝とした。しかしながら、時々また漏れるものがある。その漏れる箇所はこの書に存在し、この書に省かれたものは『一隅』に載せる。そうすればこの編と『一隅』とは車輪のごとく、羽翼のごとし。二書ともに備わるときは、『佩文韻府』がないことを遺憾とするに足りず。まして他の書を用いるに及ぼうか。実に風流の才子、国学、書、画、連俳家に至るまで、各々その志あるものは花晨月夕、雨宵雪暁、あるいは酒宴賀宴、遊覧旅行等、頃刻も袖中を欠くべからざる珍書宝鑑である。

この書は代々明朝の俸禄を食んでその恩沢に浴した臣下が奢侈を極め、あるいは政権を恣にして賢臣を害し、諸民を虐げ、後にはその最高の寵愛を忘れ、君主を欺き国を売り仇敵に通じ、ついに奸智をもって清朝に仕えて一時栄達を得たので、天人ともにこれを憎んだ。しかるに天が定まり、清朝の主が一統した後、このような者は天下の大倫を敗るとて、あるいは誅殺し、あるいは流罪に処し、あるいは永く獄に繋ぎ、あるいは俸禄を奪って飢渇に及ばしめ、加えて史臣に命じて、詳しくその伝記を作らしめ戒めて以て後世の亀鑑に至らしめた書であるから、四方の諸大家が一読されれば万事の鬱懐も霖雨の初めて晴れるがごとく、真に愉快言うべからざる珍書である。

This book was compiled by Yu Zhaochunting of the Qing dynasty. Using "Peiwen Yunfu" as the original text, where there are omissions, it supplements with other books. From character dictionaries and rhyme books, naturally, to "Shimon Ruiju," "Geibun Ruiju," and even categorical books like "Enkan Ruikan" and "Kakuchi Kyōgen," it records classical sources and historical anecdotes. Moreover, it places rhyme characters first after the rhyme foundations. For example, in the "yi dong" rhyme, after the usual rhyme foundations like "castle east," "house east," "peach garden east," etc., it uses that "east" character as the initial character, or types like "eastern mountain," "eastern sea," "Dongfang Shuo," etc., up to five and seven characters. Thus dividing rhyme characters above and below, it prioritizes speed of reference. What it contains - classics, histories, philosophers, and literary collections - lacks nothing. It provides freedom in searching rhyme foundations and seeking familiar phrases and historical anecdotes, making it a quick reference for rhyme books. Previously when "Rhyme Repository Corner" was published, gentlemen from all directions treasured it. However, occasionally there are still omissions. Where it omits, this book contains; what this book abbreviates, "Corner" includes. Thus this compilation and "Corner" are like wheels, like wings. When both books are available, there is no need to regret the absence of "Peiwen Yunfu." How much less would other books be needed? Truly for elegant and talented individuals, national scholars, calligraphers, painters, and even renga poets - all those with such aspirations - during flowery mornings and moonlit evenings, rainy nights and snowy dawns, or at wine banquets and celebratory feasts, sightseeing and traveling, this is a precious book and treasure mirror they cannot lack in their sleeves for even a moment.

This book concerns retainers who for generations received stipends from the Ming dynasty and basked in its benevolent favors, yet pursued extreme luxury, or monopolized political power to harm worthy ministers and oppress the people. Later they forgot their highest favor, deceived their lord, sold out their country, communicated with enemies, and finally used treacherous cunning to serve the Qing and temporarily achieve success and advancement. Therefore, both heaven and humanity despised them. However, when heaven was settled and the Qing lord achieved unification, such people were said to have destroyed the great moral principles of the realm, so some were executed, some exiled, some permanently imprisoned, some stripped of stipends and reduced to hunger and thirst. Moreover, court historians were commanded to compose their biographies in detail as warnings to serve as moral mirrors for later generations. Therefore, when great masters from all directions read this once, all their pent-up feelings clear like the first clearing after long rains - truly an indescribably delightful rare book.
