現代語訳

【右丁】
水松（ミル）　海中の石の上に生える海藻類である。直径は一、二分ほどで、形は
　円く枝が多くて棒蘭のようで、緑色をして細かい粟粒のような模様が
　ある。長さは六、七寸ほど。茹でて食用とする。また灰に和えて陰干しにして
　遠方に送っても長持ちする。また砂糖漬けにもする。一種で長ミルと
　いうものがあり、長さは四、五尺に至る。枝が出て葉がある。薩摩国の産である。

　　△　甘鹹寒で毒はない。水腫（むくみ）を治す。

【Right page】
Codium (Miru)　A type of seaweed that grows on rocks in the sea. Its diameter is
　about one to two bu, round in shape with many branches like Bōran, green in color
　with fine millet-like patterns. Its length is about six to seven sun. It is boiled
　and used as food. It can also be mixed with ash and air-dried in shade to be sent
　to distant places where it keeps well. It is also made into sugar preserves. There
　is one variety called long miru, which reaches four to five shaku in length. It has
　branches and leaves. It is a product of Satsuma Province.

　　△　Sweet, salty, cold nature with no toxicity. Treats edema (swelling).
