有平糖と肉桂糖が水魚の交わりで、珍客である羊羹和尚に求肥と茶をふるまった。
かねてより望んでいた茶碗で、肉桂糖という心安い医者の望みにより、蒸し菓子の先生へ茶をふるまった。

英語訳
Aruheitou (hard candy) and Nikkeito (cinnamon candy) had an intimate friendship like fish and water, and served gyuhi (soft rice cake confection) and tea to the distinguished guest, Yokan-osho (sweet bean jelly priest).
With the tea bowl they had long desired, at the request of Nikkeito, a familiar doctor, they served tea to the teacher of steamed confections.
