現代語訳
有平糖は謀りごとによって捕らえられ、干菓子山殿の御前へ引き出された。そこへカステラの住職と羊羹和尚の嘆願により、これまでの心を改めて詫びを述べることになった。有平糖は上菓子の名を捨て、新たに唐菓子と名前を変え、茶の湯の始祖の仲間入りをし、切腹してお詫びを申し上げることにいたしましょう。

英語訳
Aruheitou was captured through trickery and brought before Higashi-yama-dono. There, through the intercession of Kasutera no Chushi (Castella Priest) and Yokan Osho (Sweet Bean Jelly Monk), he was to change his former ways and offer an apology. Aruheitou would abandon the name "refined confection" and take the new name "Chinese confection," join the ranks of the tea ceremony founders, and commit seppuku as an apology.
